Ok so I figured out Lattan's history and background

this is the very very very short version of her background yup

Lattan was born in Australia and abandoned as a baby during a 'Family' trip to Hawaii while she was only three months old. She was adopted and raised by an older Native Hawaiian Plume who became her mother. Her mother raised her while introducing her to hawaiian culture all while being teased by other natives because she was non-native. Her mother enrolled her in Hula classes and Lattan very much enjoyed them growing up.
At 18 her mother died of an illness and Lattan left Hawaii for New York to start a new life,,

Lattan has developed a permanent stutter from the constant teasing as a child as well as a fear of socialization. However she is very Kindhearted and Loyal as a Friend. She hopes to be as good of a mother one day as Her mother was to her.
