There is a theory going around that Foxy is actually a good guy. When he runs to your room, it is theorised that he is only coming to check on you, the reason he screams is because the thing that projects sound from him is broken. If you check his camera to little he gets paranoid that you died, so he comes to check up on you. If you check on him too much, he assumes that your paranoid, and he comes to assure you that he means no harm. The reason why you die when he comes through the door is that the character you play as (Mike) dies from a heart attack when Foxy comes through the door and screams, then one of the other anamatronics, after Foxy has left out of depression, come and stuff you into a suit.

Sounds pretty logical to me. Also, Foxy is the only animatronic who doesn't jump on your screen.
