Okay guys, I think I finally updated the member's list! Sorry about the delay. I had a convention about 3 weeks ago that resulted in a really long and nasty case of con crud. I'm still sick, but I had a minute at work today to catch up on this. :>

My best friend and I were Spanner and Byakuran from KHR - I have pictures, and I'll totally post some whenever I get a chance to blur our faces out LOL

Thought I'd let everyone know I was Oncoming Storm, I just changed my name ^^;

Anyways, I'm still having trouble deciding whether to make felt neko ears or paint my ear covers white for my Kyubey cosplay. Which do you guys/gals think would be the better route to go?

I think it depends what you're looking for in them. owo Felt ears would probably last longer, but they're going to take more effort to make, with ear covers the paint might chip but it would probably be a lot faster and easier to make. ^-^

Yay! My Junko Enoshima cosplay is finished - with the exception of finding some fake red nails and filing them down, but I figure I can paint my nails red if I can't find any. :c

Does anyone have tips for getting long/thick hair under wigs? lD The last time I tried to put on a wig was a catastrophe, and for the last con I went to, I had to have my friend do my hair because I can't even reach the bottom of my hair to brush it anymore.

I have really thick hair thanks to my ethnicity, and I fight with wigs all the time. What I tend to do is get my hair soaking wet, because when it's wet it will stick together better. Like I'll take a shower, hop out and slap the wig cap on right away. You need to pile it on top of your head, not in one place though - you can't use a ponytail or a bun because then that part of the wig will bulge. So you really need to spread it around so that not one place has too much hair under it.

Use lots and lots of bobby pins. I regularly have to use 20 - 30 bobby pins in my hair to keep the wig on. Have your friend put the bobby pins in the back for you so that they're hidden well. You can get bobby pins in a variety of colors. I like to keep black ones to wear with dark wigs and I have silver ones to wear with lighter wigs. I have never really had an issue with my bobby pins showing, I've tend to found them to be really easy to hide if you have some help putting them in.

Make sure you're using a wig cap, because that helps a lot. If you don't have a wig cap, you can get them at costume stores, beauty supply stores, and possibly even places like Walmart now that it's Halloween time (depending on where you live obviously this only applies in countries that celebrate Halloween haha). They cost like one or two dollars, if even.

It may take another set of hands. I can almost never get wigs on by myself. Dx

Ah, thank you. ^-^ I do have wig caps - both of my wigs came with them when I purchased them, and they do help quite a bit to keep my hair in place. One of my only problems is that the normal size of bobby pins don't really do much, and usually they get bent out of place when I use them. I have to use this special kind of super-huge ones. lD

Thanks for the tip about keeping it wet though, I didn't think about that but it should help. owo I was just thinking about the next con I have coming up and how I'll have wigs on for three days (probably multiple wigs each day even) and right now, even with someone's help, it takes at least forty-five minutes or an hour just to get the wig on and pin it in place.

Aye, thanks for making this club.

Ugh, my con is coming up so soon and I need to work on my cosplay for the first day (Me and my friends are going as the FNAF characters) I need to work on Chica, does anyone have any ideas? I've already got a blonde wig I just need to know what to do for the apron thing that says "Lets Eat!!!"... But for day two I'm either going to be Hanji or Armin from Attack on Titan.

You say you got a wig, so I'm assuming you're doing kinda humanoid versions, correct?

My first thought was some sort of maid, and instead of doing a bib, you could do an apron around your waist with the "Let's Eat" painted on it? What I think might actually look better than paint is if you cut the letters out of craft foam and glued them to the apron, but if you painted all the little splashes and splatters on (is it supposed to look like confetti or something? IDK)

I think we're being the humanoid versions but I have to be sure. I need to somehow find the money for the whole cosplay. Wal-Mart here I come!

I make my own costumes for the most part
the rest is made out of stuff I already have. sometimes I'll need a couple pieces to finish it off.
and I work at a thrift store. So the few times I do have money for cosplay and the shop I work at has something I need, i can get a discount.

Thrift stores can be sooooo useful. and if you have any in your area I would recommend checking them out.
Because you might be able to find exactly what you are looking for for a good price as well.

the only thing I struggle to make is props
Lucky for me, none of my costumes have needed them.
