Megaguirus wrote:@wolfsowl, I totally agree with you about the spider dog should have bigger eyes. It would make it even cuter, like those two pictures shown. One of which is a jumping spider and the other a wolf spider, which are both excellent hunters, due to their large eyes.
That being said, I LOVE the spider dog (as I've said before). I think you did awesome, Cataract. I actually don't think it should've kept the webs it had as a pup. Because spiders, while they do live in webs, don't cover themselves in it. The only spiders I've seen covered in web is one caught in another's, LOL. The tail is very beautiful too, even though a real spider wouldn't have something like that in a million years. The simplicity of the body is a little bland, I would've preferred it to be much fuzzier, but not all spiders are visibly covered in hair. The antennae are a little strange, but since you said you also took inspiration from an ant, I guess I can live with a spider pup with antennae.

Overall, this spider pup didn't disappoint and I plan on hoarding these little beasts.
And who else is hoping for the scorpion pup to grow tonight?
I actually like this pup more than I expected (don't like spiders, lol). I agree with the thing about the eyes, I think the face looks a little awkward because of the one large eye. I also like the legs coming out of the back instead of replacing the pups legs, the hybrid is different/new. I actually like the tail a lot (would love to see that on a future adopt!!) and because it looks like spider silk I think it makes a lot of sense too since the back end is where the spinnerets are on a spider.
Although you'd never see that much volume of silk. Actually found some photos of spiders wrapping up prey with silk bunches like that so hmmm. ^_^
Also very excited for scorpion pup!!

I feel that I can grow from the criticisms and the feedback from everyone so that I can continue to make better pets for you all (in my spare time, after I've done my moderating job).
Don't be shy.
I definitely welcome all the feedback I've gotten thus far.

I like how it's got the four legs on it's back, which makes eight legs counting the normal dog legs. The body may have benefited from a slight texture or pattern but the blankness does definitely bring out the edits! I'm not actually bothered by the lack of pattern; my only real little nitpick is that maybe the two legs closest to us (or at least that one that starts below the shoulder) could been drawn to look like they were coming out of this side of it's body. Right now it looks kinda like all four are attached to the other side of its body (unless that's what you were going for).
All in all though, it's a very nice pet cataract! c:

however, while spookiness may not be for everyone, what the artist chooses to do is what the artist chooses to do. if they would like to make a creepy and cool pet, they are going to make a creepy and cool pet, and no one here has the authority to make the artists design pets for their personal standards.
i'm sorry, i've seen too many complaints about today's dog (and yesterday's arm-eyed dog too!!!) that seem to be telling the artists to change. if you don't like the pet, trade it. simple. spooky is not for everyone and that's okay, just don't try to get the artists (who have worked hard on their spooky pet) to make something else just because you were not a fan of it.

and even if you don't like spooky, there's plenty of good aspects about this pet, like the detail of each hair on the tail!!!
cataract was actually looking for users to give their opinion on their pup :S
I adore the spider pup, little thrown off my the leg placements, I thought it might be something like the way some spiders/tarantulas rear up when they feel threatened

Im one of those nasty people who sees an orange bitey thing (can never remember its name) sand torments it because they're too dangerous to hold but I want its attention

tried to make my friends chillian rose do it but... It just ran away.
would have also liked some very light texture, but then again that could make the wee guy too busy
I've already found my ideal staff, I love Donnie Darko too much to pass the oppurtunity

Lornsome night,
babbits bawlin',
wind bitin' the bone.
Wind like this,
full of voices.
Ancestry howlin' at you;
Now, find you devil,
Old Georgie himself.
Now you hear up close
and I'll yarn you about
the first time we met
eye to eye.
'you bring the stories'.
All their voices
tied up into one.
One voice different,
one voice whispering
out there,
spying from the dark.

Alright, things I like about the spider queen dog:
I like the tail very much and the detail put into it.
I like the soft, plain body with it's easy shading.
Things that are not my favorite:
Maybe a little carryover of the tail textures elsewhere? As beautiful as it is it almost feels like it belongs on a different pet.
The antenna seem to be different lengths and slightly skewed. Did one get broken?
And probably the thing that just really makes me less than fond of the design, the eyes. I could have handled the dog a lot better if it had just had a pair of normal eyes. Even strange looking eyes. But the multiple eyes just push the dog over the line for me.
It's a very nice staff pet, very creative, it's just not ever going to be my cup of tea. Good job and keep it up!
Currently collecting PPS dogs.Music makes you braver.

Since the time for turn over will be coming soon....I respectfully ask that any discussion on my dog cease at turn over.
Please give the next staff dog your entire attention. If you would like to voice your feedback or praise, please PM me.
Otherwise, do not do so here. Thank you <3 uwu
very Kind of you, cataract

well since it's two more hours until rollover, I'll discuss you dog, too^^
I absolutely love the tail, it seems pretty realistic, wow (it also reminds me of another staff dog's tail, but i don't know which one X3)
what bothers me a bit are the Spider legs on it's back, some of them look like they would grow out of it, just to grow back into it again^^'
but all in all, a cool staff dog

That's so sweet cataract <3
Also, just want to say that I find it rather ironic that my recently adopted Pound pet (a staff pup) turned into Selkine owo
