"Thank you, Jadewing..." He dipped his head, then turned for his nephew. By now the thin white tom was standing, becoming uneasy. Featherstone walked with him to the nursery, stopping outside. He could hear the kits moving inside.

Silentvoice looked down inside the nursery, moving his gaze from Berryfrost and her fluffballs to Roseheart's. His tail flicked and he looked at Featherstone. The normal, calm and proud cat didn't greet him back however. Instead his uncle appeared to be worried about something. Concerned flashed in his blue eyes, but it vanished as the older cat gestured for him to go inside. He hesitated, ears swiveling back, but obeyed and slipped inside, pausing slightly when he drew nearer to them. He blinked at Berryfrost and sat himself down between her and Roseheart's nests.

Featherstone huffed shakily and slipped inside after his nephew had seated himself down. He sat beside Berryfrost and pressed his muzzle to her cheek.

Berryfrost looked up as Featherstone walked back in. "You come back to me" She whispered into his ear as he leaned into her. Licking his cheek she tried to show as much love as she could in the single gesture.

A sensation passed from his cheek all the way to his paw pads, and the fur along his spine twitched. He withdrew from her, jaws taut and ears folded back.
"Of course." He touched noses with her before separating entirely from her and trudging to the others. His paws felt as if roots had grown from them and hugged the earth to keep him from moving. But this was what he needed to do. For the Clan and his family.

~Roseheart~
Making sure the patrol wouldn't leave without her, Roseheart quickly ran to the nursery. Her deep green gaze looked from Silent voice to her kits. The she-cat almost seemed to tear up. She walked to her kits and nuzzled them. I'll be with you forever, no matter if I make it alive or not... Roseheart thought. She then looked to Silentvoice, staring into his eyes. Roseheart licked his cheek. Not exactly affectionately, but meaningfully. "Thank you." She mewed in his ear before running outside to the group again.

Though he couldn't hear it, her lick meant so much more. Her mumbles made his ear fur twitch, and he purred quietly in response. His gaze met hers before she turned back to join the group again and he rose to his paws and followed her outside the nursery, stopping halfway through camp. He blinked at her, his tail tip twitching. Be safe.

Roseheart walked beside him and turned towards him when he had stopped. The cream colored she-cat smiled gently and nodded to Silentvoice. I will. She then turned away from the white tom and walked the rest of the way to the group.

Berryfrost watched the place where her mate had disappered in confusion. She wondered what he was thinking, but shook the thought off. Looking at Silentvoice she smiled, picking up one of her sleeping bundles and placing it by his side, a soft purr rumbling in her throat.
