The last thing I can remember was being in a room, colored a blinding white that my eyes were not yet adjusted to, rows of my brothers and sisters standing off to the sides with dark shadows looking in their eyes... The tallest angel I had ever seen stood before me behind a wooden podium. The room was almost like a courthouse. I was being judged, I believe, for my sins. The higher orders of angels stood before me, staring down at me with pity and disdain. It was clear to me and everybody else that I was not going to be pardoned. I remember hearing the last gavel hitting the wooden podium with such a force, it sent me falling. My grace was torn from my body and my essence nearly burnt away to nothing as I fell to the Earth.
And now I'm here. It's strange, really. I have a real body now, a body that can become damaged and isn't invincible. It was lucky of me to find a vessel so quickly. It's funny, though, I spent millenniums residing in Heaven, watching over these people. These poor souls who knew no better then to kill and deceive their way into what they thought would be paradise. Now I am one of them. I now stand in the center of a field, in a crater about 400 feet wide and 100 feet deep. I wonder, how will I ever get out. My wings may still work, but what do I do then?
I get to my feet and look around. Earth. I never thought it would be this beautiful up close.
I never quite knew what to do here, with the constant necessities of being alive. Kind foxerflies took me in, though I don't recognize them from my time in Heaven. It's hard to remember ever single name. Despite the oddness of this world I now see up close and under my paws,
and I think I'm going to like it here.
