Pet's name: Prongs
Earlier in the thread I saw a lot of people saying they see only 1 horn, but I definitely see 2.
They reminded me of antlers, so I named him Prongs ^_^
That puppy is based on a Kirin [Japanese Name] (also called Qilin [Chinese name]). Typical of Chinese mythology, the creatures were often described as parts of an animal. I'm sure a number of people know that the eastern dragon is horns of a deer, paws of tiger, head of a horse, eyes of a demon, ears of a cow, stomach of a clam, scales of a carp, claws of an eagle, and body of a snake.
Likewise, Qilins were described similarly, as horns of a deer, head of a dragon, hooves of an ox, skin/scales of a carp, and tail of a lion. Kirins of Japanese culture tended to be more deer-like than the Qilins of China and had ox tails instead. C;
There is definitely two horns ;] Tyr did say the pup was a Kirin-base (correct me if I'm wrong XD) so, there are indeed two horns. The reason many pictures depict a Kirin/Qilin with one horn is because of western influence. XDD Westerners saw paintings of these Kirin/Qilin and dubbed them "Eastern Unicorns" X3 Quite the contrary, the original Kirins/Qilins had two antlers, not one horn C;
Long post in short, there are two antlers/horns, but it's really up to yourself as to what you see Cx
