Wind would make more sense, since ice is just a different state of water.

Yup, definitely a horse on a horse

Actually, I think it's a deer. I see antlers.

Im almost positive that its a horse, and what you see is the horses mane

But it's way above the head...
still looks like a deer to me XD

only way to know is if the artist says what it actually is I guess.

I've seen a few people saying they look like stained glass before, but to be honest stained glass never even crossed my mind while I worked on them and it amuses me you guys seem to think that XD.

Naah, that's not their theme.

I was thinking like Aztec/Native South American designs, but I'm probably way off track

I must admit I had some Aztec/Mayan inspiration for this one's design, but nah, that's not the theme either... you really should pay attention to the second stage's designs, though. The adults may look dramatically change, but what you all call "paint splatters" on the foals is a big fat clue.

I had this suspicion as well. I think the theme would fit perfectly based on the colorations.
