  they say i was born of the stars.
  i had visions before my birth. they were dreams and memories, everything i could ever think of came rushing to me in waves. i remembered how the moon was made, and i remembered how one star, specifically one star, was born, destroyed, and reborn later on. the dreams confused me - i wandered through plains, daisies tickling my chin as i was too short to gaze any higher. i saw lovers embracing, i saw life being given.. but i saw darkness on the horizon.
  nightmares before i was born? not the most entertaining.
  i would kick and thump wildly when they came to me, and i would hear the soothing voice of my mother and eventually calm. the sights brought to me, however, were no laughing matter. death, destruction, and pain all came to me at once. i screamed, i yelled, and i begged, but no sounds came. i was engulfed in silence.
  i remember feeling like i had actually woken up after series of dreams and nightmares alike came to me. this was when i stared up at the faces of my parents. it was not reality, however, we were in a dream. i bawled and thrashed, fearing nightmares, but the smooth voices of the two grounded me: i felt safe.
  they and i exited the dream and they showed me around the real world. it was, surprisingly, much more terrifying than the nightmares themselves.
  they say i am beyond my time.
  they say i hold the wisdom of the stars.
  they say i am a dreamwalker.

The night air was cold, the stars glittered in the sky. They had been hiding under the black sky, sleeping, only minutes before. Laurel hooves clicked on the rocked under them, her long wings spread out. She looked over the deep valley, her gray eyes reflecting the stares in themselves. She flicked her hair out of her face halfheartedly, still watching the trees. A swift breeze caught under her wings, she smiled leaping from the mountain overlook where she stood. She giggled lightly, barely audible over the whoosh of the wind as it blew past her. Her thoughts left her like a cloud, though she knew she was out late and would have to be home soon. Her wings carried her far over the tree tops, though now and then she would duck down to touch a branch with her hoof. She eyed the stars, they looked beautiful and with her own coloring she blended in with them, feeling like one of them, feeling like a star herself. Laurel took a deep breath, pulling her wings in and diving towards the ground. She opened them at the last second and landed, trotting towards her home.

Laurel opened her eyes, smiling to herself. She had been in the dream world, though whose ever dream it was, it was not her own. Though she knew she would have only looked like a bird flying in the night sky to them if they looked hard enough at her. She yawned getting out of her bed and looking around 'That night was fun' She told herself, pulling her wings in close them stretching them out happily. She didn't fully know what she was doing, because she didn't fully know what her father could do since she never asked.
