Spiritstar blinked up at him and mumbled, "Thorn.." She took another deep breath, blood dripping from her mouth, "ar."

A shiver went down his spine. Thornstar. "Rest now." He curled around her and began to groom the blood from her fur, careful not to move the poultices.

At one point during the night, Firekit had somehow ended up in their Medicine den nest. She awoke with a yawn. I'll be an apprentice today! she looked at her sleeping mother. Maybe mom or dad will be my mentor, or Icesky...hey, I don't know how he is, either!

Russetwing looked up at the rising sun, finnaly, morning. She stood, glancing about the camp with bloodshot eyes. She hadn't slept last night, just stayed up in the warriors den entrance.
