stupidity is contagious. it all started with one idea,
someone who was feeling spontaneous enough to
go against the trip adviser's warning and go out to
party with some of the [rather hot] hawaiian natives.
apparently, the entire student body who had atten-
ded the eco-friendly class trip thought it was a
brilliant idea- until the police got involved,
shut down the party and each student was assigned
to a difficult wildlife clean-up project with a few
judgmental natives as a form of punishment. the
project was to take place a few miles offshore, on
a preserve nearby the island. after they spent an
entire day out in the grueling sun, the crew set to
return to hawaii. however, a miscalculation of bad
weather led to rough, controlling waters that swept
the boat off in the opposite direction. the survivors
woke up on a small yet sustainable island- or so they
thought. the island is known as akahele isle, or 'be
careful of isle' in native folklore. legend says nobody
who came ashore every returned. for the students and
natives, learning to co-exist and work together may
prove more difficult than the struggle to survive.
