If your asking me its that pet place/that fish place. It's further than I'd like to drive(like 30 minutes more than if I'd go to a petsmart or petco) but it has better taken care of animals. Why?

Hime wrote:Starfalling, if it's like that then likely as the pic says it's bacterial infection. So keeping the water tip top clean is first step(knowing the nitrite and nitrate levels would be great help with that, some pet stores can test these for you if you take a water sample to them) in curing it, plus preventing it from coming back. How often and much do you change the water usually?
Then I'd get some anti-bacterial medication as well. But with meds you need to be carefull, as some are strong enough to kill the good filter bacteria as well(which is why testing for nitrite while medicating is pretty important). I've used stuff called Myxazin(by Waterlife, if I remember right) to treat mild-ish case of bacterial infection+mouth/finrot on corries. Worked on the milder cases, but not on the more severe ones. But at the same time it didn't kill any filter bacterias, which I was very greatful of. Sera's baktopur, or baktopur direct, are stronger stuff(especially the direct), but at the sametime very effective as well.
Can anyone think of fish that can live in temps of 20-23C? Smaller in size too, since they'd go to 80-ish liter tank...
I only change the water when my fish is sick necuase I'm not allowed to do ot more often. (My grandpa thinks it's a waste of water.)

Starfalling - You don't have to empty the entire tank when you do a water change. Take out the top few inches and then replace that.
Water changes are part of fish keeping. They are what keep your fish /healthy/. If you don't do it, you'll have fish that are merely surviving, not thriving.
So that's probably your problem.

Well your fish is sick so it does need a water change
No offence but you can't possibly keep your fish healthy if you only do a water change when your fish is sick
I do 50% water changes on my 40G goldfish tank every 4 days.
They are messy fish and require more maintenance then most other fish to keep the ammonia, nitrate and nitrite down.
90% of the time fish get sick because they are swimming in their own waste, regular water changes help reduce this.
His tank is much too small for him so you have to make that up by doing water changes much more often.
Even if you could sneak in doing 25% daily that's only 5 gallons a day but I'm sure he would be much happier
Do as large a water change as you can to start with to remove as much as you can then continue doing a small amount daily.
It's a fish keepers job to keep their fish as happy and healthy as they can be
Would you leave a dog in a cage with its own waste till it got sick?
Sorry if I'm being blunt but this is your pets life and he's your responsibility.

I still can't, my family thinks that fishkeeping = put fish in tank and feed once a day.

Then you're in a bit of an akward situation. Your choices are convince your family that fish are animals capable of feelign pain and need the same care as any other animals, including regular fresh water(same as bedding in other animals) so it isn't literally swimming in it's own filth, rehome the poor fish or do nothing and hope it doesn't suffer too much when it dies :c
We get family not understanding proper pet care but you need to do something about this. Can you offer to pay or work for the water you use in its tank or something?
You cannot eat love, nor buy a horse with it, nor warm your halls on a cold night

I'm too busy to get a job due to dance and school so I will try to convince my family and just hide the water changes from my grandpa.

As far as I know, no. But don't hold me to it as I could be wrong. I know that they do carry several bugs and as the store is so large, I could've missed them! I was going to order the praying mantis online.
