In a nutshell, he's based on Marvel's Mephisto, as well as the actual mythological figure Mephistopheles. (also, a color palette generated from the wiki picture.)

Edits/accessories:
Eyes (yellow) should have a slight glow; and I'd love if his horns could look like this? I'd also quite like if he could have hair (scraggly and reddish, like the Marvel Mephisto; though you're free to take some liberties with it of course!) and a tattered red cape?
