Featherfoot

Featherfoot almost stumbled over her own paws when she heard him say that. That's when she realized that all this time he really WAS dying, and she was too ignorant to notice. Her breath seemed to catch in her throat as she continued walking, forcing herself to stop shaking.

Blazingkit squealed in protest. He was being double-teamed! He squirmed underneath his bigger sister's weight with a wail.

Shadowsleek

Shadowsleek clicked his tongue and nudged Cinderkit off. "Be nice to your smaller brother." He murmured softly, even though he knew the kits didn't understand him yet.

(Muahaha. I just realized Shadowsleek's plan was to turn them against each other. Ooooh the surprise when they come padding back into camp like nothing happened.))

Limping forward, he stuck close to Featherfoot's side. "I'm sorry," he rasped, "I should've known better than to use such poor taste when in your presence. I know how sensitive you can really be, when you let someone in." He meowed lowly, trying his best to keep a steady pace and to avoid stumbling on forest debris. While he was silent for a moment, Coppertail eventually spoke up once more. "I'm sorry," he repeated, although it seemed he was speaking about more then his poor taste in humor.

Featherfoot

Featherfoot wanted to tackle him and lick his cheeks and nuzzle his beautiful amber neck and confess... confess her love, but she held back and instead felt a blush rise underneath her cheeks as she brushed her tail over his back. "You know you don't need to apologize." She said softly and her heart seemed to go numb. he doesn't know what it's like, he is merely pitying you. her head throbbed.

(ATTACK HIM WITH LOOOOOOVE)

The large russet tom shook his head, blinking dull green eyes. "I said such... Terrible things. That alone deserves more apology than I can give to you, Featherfoot." He rumbled, pulling in a wheezing breath before continuing. "I need you to know that I wasn't in my right mind, okay? Everything I said wasn't true. I could never, ever hate you. I l-" he was cut off mid-sentence by a harsh cough.

Featherfoot

Featherfoot immediately pricked her ears and reflexively swiped her tail across his back, "C..Coppertail?" She mewled weakly, lifting up a paw in concern. Her pelt prickled as she nosed his cheek encouragingly. "Please, come on, you'll..." Featherfoot swallowed anxiously. "You'll be okay. I promise."

Darkswift
Darkswift followed behind, trying to not listen in on their conversation, mostly hearing sorries and coughs "Hey Coppertail... Somthing itching your throat?" he asked, almost a bit too quietly seeing as he was partly afraid to speak right now "do you need anyherbs?" he added, trying to seach through what was there of the few important herbs in his memory. He wrestled his thoughts around the two deaths and his own slightly itchy throat, difficult as it may all be, one answer bubbled up as a soft buzzing sounded a little distance away.

Tail sweeping meekly behind him, Coppertail shook his head. "I'm fine, Darkswift. Keep the herbs for a cat who needs them, and they will work. They won't help me- and I don't want to take away from a cat who needs it," he coughed, casting a small smile over to Featherfoot. "To think you treat me so kindly, after what I said," he murmured, shrugging faintly. "I'll be grateful to survive til tomorrow," he sighed.

Darkswift
"Shh..." the dark tom hissed all of a sudden, his paws halted as his ears flicked around, listening for the soft sound again. Even though it was tree-bare, the things he was looking for, might be active in their trees "Help me listen featherfoot" he ordered softly, looking around and walking one direction, then another, following his ears until he tripped over a tree root "Fox-dung..." he cursed, listening again.

Featherfoot looked from Coppertail to Darkswift, her jaws snapping shut just as she was about to reply. She looked from Coppertail to Darkswift a few times before standing on her tiptoes and nuzzling Coppertail in a quick flash and darted over to Darkswift, running very lightly on her paws. "Yes?" She hissed softly.

Darkswift flicked his ears "one of these trees is humming... help me find it and both coppertail's and my throat will feel much better..." he whispered, stepping to a tree and putting an ear to it, he shook his head and continued to the next, then next, then next.
