I'm digging up tons of my old, terrible warriors. Imma write a terrible fanfiction, with terrible names.

Having serious issues viewing dark colours at the moment. May delay replys to pms. Sorry.
The Leopard Pups
Grey, Black and White. The world revolves and we go with it. Twisting in this everlasting monotony, eyes of green and gold, watching and waiting for our chance, our time. Cytor, Liliana, Serenade, Bayonet, the Prankster, the sweet one, the mother and the lost soul. There birth was a lost event, one in a million, two wandering souls met in the shadows, and these four were created. There pups are the stuff of legend, one lost there sight, one lost there path, one lost there love and the other? The other lost his family, everyone they cared about. He lost his family.

Muwhahaha. Don't worry, won't make you review these ones. I put two up that you can do whenever. But the rest will go straight to fanfic of doom.

That makes me wonder...
...how bad is my warrior cat's name, Comettail? I know that it's probably pretty bad, but I use it as a username everywhere and can't bring myself to dislike it despite being... not a normal warrior cat name. Don't worry, I don't use it in any role-plays, since I know it's not realistic. Well, I used to before I realized it wasn't realistic, but I don't anymore.

I would like to note before I answer that my standards of naming are entirely mine alone. If you like the name and think it's a good name, then it doesn't matter, since something like this is solely a matter of opinion. That said, I think that, as a username, there's nothing too bad about it. It's an easy identifier, and stands out amongst this group, which a username should do.
As a warrior name, of course, I would negate it, simply due to the fact that comets are related to stars and celestial activity, which is a sacred thing to the Clans, so it wouldn't pass. As long as the cat was a great climber and very agile, though, the suffix could stay.

Comet-tail seems to fall more under the 'lyrical' category. You could certainly keep it, as there are many members of the fan base who follow the lyrical style of naming, but if the name is assigned to a specific cat, I would suggest having an alternative 'traditional' name for traditional/realistic fanfics c:

Okay, thanks. I meant bad in terms of how far from traditional it is, since there aren't exactly thousands of warrior cats with the prefix "Comet" in the series, and there will certainly never be. Then again... there have been plenty of "Sun" cats and a "Moon" cat, so you never know.

I love the name Comettail, I admit I like non-traditional names. But that one is really nice!

I've said this quite a few times, but the Hunters actually had planned for there not to be a Moon- cat, since the moon is sacred to the Clans. Of course, being the Hunters, they didn't exactly keep to that.
I would place it as "pretty far away". Traditional naming doesn't always take from the books; it instead focuses on the environment that the cats would live in (that is, England), and takes names from what could be found there (so you've likely never seen a Muntjac- or a Roach- in the books, but you would in traditionalism).
