1. I would like to know what art programs you guys use and pros and cons of the different ones

2. if you have tablet which one do you have and are there any issues or quirks with them?

I really only use the oekaki on here (which is chibipaint I believe). And I have a wacom intuous pro, no problem here, it runs perfectly, but they are fairly expensive. I got mine for $240.

(I've had it for a little over half of a year.)

I really only use Photoshop Elements, it came free with my tablet, I love it and won't use anything else!
I tried to download a free version of SAI, DO NOT DO THIS!! Blew my system with a virus.
I can use Chibi paint also but in my opinion it's more complicated and I just don't get it...

I have the Wacom Bamboo Create, I adore it!! The only funny thing about it is with some systems (Windows) it has some difficulty with the drivers and sometimes because of this you may loose pen pressure. All I do to fix it is restart the computer works every time. Really want the wireless kit for it too but...

I started out with GIMP which is a free program and you can do anything with it (I've seen people make realistic paintings in it, geez wish I could do that in it). After a couple years I bought SAI and my wacom bamboo which together was about $200 (SAI is $70). I don't have any problems with either program, both are great depends on what you're wanting to do; as long as you know how to use the setting/brushes/etc you can pretty much do everything and anything with a program.

Back in the day I used photoshop elements. It's what I started with and to this day it's still my favorite program, however it's not free I don't think. (My dad kinda... Bootlegged it.. Ahhh)
I believe it has way more options and features to edit and make art with, gimp doesn't have too much it's pretty simple (but it's free). It can be a pain sometimes for me but it's all I've got.

I used to have a Wacom bamboo tablet. Never used it much because I had it before I came to the WME community so I did mostly photo manips with it. Now I'm actually going to order a Wacom tablet tomorrow. I like Wacom, so I trust this will work good for me. I can't afford the fancy tablets where the screen is actually on the tablet but that would definitely be my number 1 choice!
