If you take the first letter of each word, you get "key". The pup has a key necklace. I'm not sure how it relates to the "you earn knowledge but backwards" hint, but something is really telling me that this is Sketchi's.

Well I just have to say, I have absolutely loved all of Sketchi's pets so far, including the adorable staff pup. I can't wait to see how this month's rats turn out (so fluffy) and the rest of the Butterwolves (they're gorgeous with the nature-y/leafy wings)
