and ending doesn't have to be happy to be considered good.
it just has to be narritively satisfying.
most of the ending's for shows that I adore have made me cry like a baby.

a good ending has to tie up all the loose threads of story as best as it can.
which isn't easy.

Merlin's ending was pretty solid. I liked the way it ended... even though it didn't make me cry like some other shows did.
