Hyeneas
What are Hyeneas?
- Hyeneas are Hyena like mammals that are about the size of dogs.
- Hyeneas are carnivores who hunt with talent. They hunt just about anything, and they eat every single part of the animal they catch, including the soul, which is characteristic to Hyeneas.
- The groups, or, 'Clans' of Hyeneas are ruled by females, and males are used only for hunting and reproductive purposes. Female Hyeneas only give birth to two litters in their lives; and while usually they are from the same father both times, there are some cases where the female gets bored with her mate and leaves them for another. Each Hyenea litter contains 1-3 kits in it.
- Mothers are very protective of their cubs, and dislike males or even their mate coming near them (even if they love their mate). The female often chooses one to be their 'princess' meaning that they baby that one especially, and more times than not, the 'princess' is a female. When the mother is the queen of the clan, the 'princess' becomes the heir to the clan, and is often the toughest kit in the whole group.
Characteristics?
- There is a ritual and a 'right of passage' that happens when a Hyenea kit is about eight weeks old; the kit get's it long tail broken by the chieftainess of the clan. It sounds brutal, but to them it's like getting your ears pierced. This makes a zigzag or crooked shape in the long, whip-like tail. Hyeneas also use their tails as a flag to communicate to other Hyeneas across a field. Hyeneas usually have unnatural colors, but they always okay, usually have at least one shade of grey on their pelt. Hyeneas laugh just like real hyenas, but sound eerily close to a human laugh. Kit's calls at first sound like a little squeak, but around 4 weeks, their squeak turns into a noise that highly resembles a giggling child. Hyeneas always have a mane on the top of their head and at the end of their tails. Surprisingly, the hair is quite soft and they are often hunted for it.
- -Hyeneas are actually very intellectual and have their own language
-They copy human behaviours
-They add accessories to themselves
-They have a supernatural ability to rip out a hunted animal's soul
-They devour every single part of a hunted animal, including the bones, insides, and especially the soul
-Hyeneas always have spots on their bodies
-The very first Hyenea is named Rin. But she's a weirdo. Don't make eye contact.

-Please do not make fur or hair edits to your Hyenea
-It's fine for two Hyeneas to have the same name, since this is a semi-open species, it does not matter, just be sure to PM the owner of the twin named Hyenea just to make sure you both are aware.
