The Edge (Sci-Fi; Accepting)

Mei

"There are predators underground here." Mei speaks simply, almost in passing. Her eyes follow Ivy to the top of the tree, then flash down the hatch to the bottom. "And someone's over there, as well." She nods in the direction of Ichor, lifting an eyebrow. "Where are all these people popping out from?" She mutters.

Miles

Miles moves to the entrance area of the tree and shrugs. "I don't know but you're clearly the welcoming committee." This causes the sister to scowl; the brother laughs.

Ivy laughed and rolled her eyes at Miles. "Well maybe it's a good thing. It means you don't have a chance to scare them away," she teased. She looked over in the direction Mei had indicated.

Miles & Mei

"Hey, I resent that." Miles grumbled. Mei shook her head. "I resent being your sister." With that, she steps down the hatch and drops lithely to the ground. She doesn't waste a minute, walking toward where she saw the figure. "So, we gonna do this the easy was or the hard one?" She purrs. Miles stands over the hatch, watching his sister. "She's crazy, I swear."

Mei

"And I have no idea who you are." Mei shrugs, crossing her arms. "So don't waste time. Come out and I'll introduce myself." She rolls her head side to side, stretching her neck. What a welcoming committee she is...

she walks out from behind the tree and holds out her hand

Mei

Mei examines the outstretched hand for a moment, then extended her wrist. The scanner light peeks out, roving lazily over Ichor. A moment later the light disappears and Mei shakes the woman's hand, quickly but firmly, before stepping back. "Right. I'm Mei. This is the nest. I am not the welcoming committee." She turns, sticking out her tongue toward the nest, and starts toward it without another word.

Mikaelan

Mika cleans and bandages each wound; the skin almost seems to mend at her touch. Soon the scratches no longer hurt, or even seem to have existed if not for the puckered pink lines, and anything deeper is clean and hidden. She moves to fetch water and brings it back for Aurora, still whispering soothingly.
