Beefur's a little too prissy and rule abiding for that. Besides, he got two of his own Clanmates under his metaphorical thumb specifically for meeting someone outside of the Clan. He wouldn't pull that exact thing, even if he could get away with it.

I just imagine Minnowheart calling one of them Beekit{who oddly enough looks like Beefur} and Rookpaw just looks at her like

To W13L (or Wiel), there's a reason he wasn't given -heart as a suffix, even though he technically should have.

To Cookie, I certainly hope so. I can see the scenario now: a new little brown apprentice hops up to the border and greets Rookpaw, and they talk a little, and the cat names himself as Beepaw.

Cue the Kill Bill siren and war flashbacks.

Whilst Rookpaw stands there,looking like Simba when he saw the stampede running down into the gorge... {-cue feels-}

The nice thing about traditionalism is that the name won't carry the connotation for long - two generations at most. My personal headcanon is that cats that are notable in any regard and have their stories passed on eventually become more mythological and earn odd names through the telling - for example, a cat who was mighty in battle and had constantly messy and pokey fur would eventually be called Thorn, or Thornclaw.

That's an interesting theory. If so, Tigerclaw/star might eventually be called Longclaw in stories, or perhaps Clawstar, if they go with remembering his long claws.

I imagine he would be warped into a great, monstrous figure over time as well, with his desire for power being turned into hushed tales of his infinite hunger that would only be satisfied by devouring every tree and cat and stone, and large, long badger-like claws scouring the earth as he chased after his prey.

And then, of course, his one true adversary, a mighty golden, lion-like cat with a mane of fire named Blazeheart who stood for all that is just and true in the world (with his origin story conveniently being forgotten by more narrow-minded storytellers), who led an army to rival StarClan against the great Longclaw and his ratlike followers.

And afterwards, there were Longclaw's sons, Tigerclaw (Yep, Brambleclaw became so well known for fighting against being distrusted for being the son of Tigerclaw that in the generations of storytelling, his name became Tigerclaw. So much for successfully not being like his father...) and... uh... Darkclaw? They fought in a battle that lasted for seasons, until finally, Tigerclaw won.

I would argue that Hawkfrost would be lost to the ages, and perhaps even Brambleclaw would be forgotten at one point or another. If anything, he would be known for taking the Clans to a new home with five other cats, with retellings occasionally blending some of these cats together (Stormfur and Feathertail, for example, or Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw) or even presenting them as literal animals or beings from their prefixes (Crowfeather becoming an actual crow sent from StarClan to scour the lands for a new home). Maybe two or three of these cats would be lost in the retelling, who knows?

Of course, if I had my way, these cats would also have been traditionally named, but whatevs.
