Roll says... 5: Answer warily.
"About as much as anyone can, I guess," you say slowly, eying him. If he tries anything, you need to be ready.
However, he doesn't do anything more than flop down onto the rocks. "Okay, well. Look. I just..." He looks up at you. "The group was getting really suspicious of you suddenly staying out of it."
Ah. So he doesn't know yet. You give him a mock-pleasant tone. "Well, I figured that after you took care of my mother, it might be the smart thing to do. Didn't want to risk more cats getting hurt."
"Alright. Fair enough." His head sinks back down. "Well, I just...wanted to tell you to keep an eye on your friend."
You blink. "Who?"
"Knotpaw." He paws at a pebble in front of him. "She's been poking around a little too much and he's...we're getting a little suspicious. Especially after Jayface trailed the goose. You didn't, uh...have anything to do with that, did you?"
You narrow your eyes. "All I did was ask her some questions. She ran after Knotpaw tried to bring her to camp."
"Ah...okay." Thriftwhisker makes an odd twitchlike movement when he turns his head. "Alright. Just making sure. I don't want you to end up in the lavender, is all."
You save sarcastic comments for later and simply watch him. He's certainly acting irregular - his ears won't stop flicking and turning, and he looks bedraggled, plus his mouth and whiskers keep moving and he's making a nearly imperceptible whimpering noise. Something about this is vaguely familiar, but you can't place a paw on it.
Are you alright?
What will you do after this?
