Okay so I recently discovered activated carbon. It is the best thing in the world. My 10 gallon (which only has a guppy, neon tetra, and bristlenose pleco in it) looked like the water was red because of the wood in it for the pleco and I put some activated carbon in and I woke up this morning and for once, I could actually see the color of the (fake) plants in it. I'm so happy! But does anyone know if it will be actually clear, or how long it will take to get to that point?

Yes. This is the first time in months I've seen this and it's in large quantity .

Did he recently make a bubble nest? Sometimes they break down on the surface. Regardless, it's harmless. I used to have a betta who got spit everywhere all the time; I just scooped all the spit off of the top with a net.

No , he's recovering from fin rot so I just wanted to make sure it wasn't anything bad.

*happy dance*

Finally ordered a canister filter for our goldfish tank! Should arrive sometime this week! Hopefully it makes maintenance a little easier!

At any rate, our goldfish, and Gabe, are huge! Well, mainly the oldest goldfish, Ulfric, orange oranda, is massive! He's only about 3 years old, but he's already 3/4 grown! Gabe is only 2 years old, but already 8" long. I'll need to either invest in a 300 gallon tank, or we'll have to build a koi pond, soon XD

Also got my pictus catfish, Snuggles, a baby companion, Cuddles. They get along quite well! Cuddles was weirded out by Axle, my betta, at first, but now they've settled down.

Just put my new axolotl in my tank. He's precious but stressed because he was at a fish auction all day. :(

I saw a eyeless lionhead at the pet store today. I really wanted to buy him but I have nowhere to keep him ;n;
poor thing probably won't last long at the store.

Good news! My betta, we have decided to name her Niña, is losing her stress stripes! You can definitely tell that she is female, and her stress stripes are fading to a dull blue. She also is getting red spots on the tips of her fins. She's obviously a plakat (which cost 13.99$ at my local pet store, while she was only 1.99$ as a baby).
