I have a theory about Metallic Dragon's pup.

R2R could mean rags to riches.

And Metallic Dragon's staff dog last year reminds me of a dragon, but what pops out to me most is the black and green curves remind me of vines.

And this hint:

'little thieves and tabby cats
fallen leaves then golden mats
What luck have I, this little one
To escape my fate and be redone'

Reminds me of fairy tales. So Metallic Dragon, is your pup fairy tale themed?

The star pup is Verdana's
The "I love paint" pup is versicolor's
Feathery/scaley pup is bel racat's
The "masked" pup is Saikiyo's
