Flintfoot slouched. " But, Flamewing... I- " He stopped, closing his mouth. With a sigh, his pain filled eyes glittered at Flamewing. " I feel so bad to let Kestrelflame down. I just don't... "

Flamewing's gaze softened. She glanced around, slightly looking for things to say. "Flintfoot..." She trailed off. She turned towards Flintfoot, feeling terrible that he looked upset. "Maybe she understands..." She began. She sighed, her gaze dropping to the ground. "I don't think you're letting her down, yeah, she's upset, but you can't control feelings." She looked back at Flintfoot. "Just like you said before, when..." She decided not to say the last part, she felt as if it was a bad time to bring it up.

Suddenly, Flintfoot stood up and held his head high. " I should stop acting like a kit mewing for its mother and start being a warrior. " Flintfoot said, not looking at Flamewing. " Besides, crying doesn't fill hungry bellies. " He added, as if he was talking to himself.

Flamewing flicked her ear, surprised at how quickly his feelings changed. She lightly placed her tail on his shoulder. "Don't ever forget Flintfoot, its always ok to feel." She nodded. "You are an amazing Warrior."

Kestrelflame sighed silently from the bushes she was hiding in, listening to their conversation. "I knew I had no chance with him...I am just a freak of nature. No matter how many times I tell myself I'm not- I'M NOT MEANT TO FIND LOVE!" She hissed, loud enough for them to hear everything she had said.

Flamewing withdrew her tail from Flintfoot's shoulder, and warily padded over to the bush. "Kestrelflame?" She called out, poking her head into the bush, finding the multicolored she cat watching their conversation.

He had not heard Kestrelflame due to the thoughts going off in his head. " Thanks. " He muttered briefly before trotting to camp. Don't say anything to me. Nothing! Flintfoot growled in his head.

She watched her retreating tail. "He is not a kit! If he doesn't want comfort, then that is his choice!" She called after her, straightening her back. She turned around, and bounded after Flintfoot. "Where are you heading?"

Flintfoot

Flintfoot decided to hunt, so he caught a few small water voles. The scrawny creatures weren't enough to fill bellies, but it would do. He then came across Flamewing again and gave a weak, fake smile. "Hey. Sorry that I acted like a kit. I know the lack if food kinda phases us all. " Flintfoot joked lightly. He saw Kestrelflame run away, lightly dropping his tail. Since he didn't want to pour anymore, he straightened back up.
