The brown rat is scabbers and the white one with grey on his face is patches.
They died a few years ago then I found out I gained a severe rat allergy so I can't get anymore.
Rats are amazing pets as they are capable of learning (I read in the rat owner book I bought that you can even train them to use a litter box), they're less likely to bite you, and you can actually play with them if you can get them out of the cage.
those are cute cute rats

my rats don't smell bad as long as I keep their cage clean {it's a urine smell otherwise because rats and mice are basically urinating constantly}
does anyone else have issues with their rats eating their water bottle? my baby climbed on and chewed the top out of one.. got a new one, stuck it on the outside of the cage.. last night they stuck their nose through and chewed a hole in it {I am sure they got a bath lol it was a big water bottle and it was full}

Try getting a glass one. My rats chewed through all my plastic ones, but I got a glass one and it quickly stopped.

I love rats! When I had them they were some of the best pets I ever owned. Unfortunately they all died about a year ago.

i haven't had the heart to get new one since my precious little Bachy died. Instead I got a rabbit. *sniff* I know, I'm a traitor, but I love my bunny too.
I never succeeded in getting my little boys litter box trained, but they never bit me, and we would play together all the time as well as snuggle. They were really funny, sweet little animals and I miss them a lot. One of my rats would like to sit on my shoulder and drape my hair around himself. It was really cute! I'm glad to see all of you people here are interested in or have all ready unlocked the fabulousness things that are domesticated rats.

Ooh, a new rat thread? Coolio :O
I guess I'll re-introduce my boys, then!
These are my best friends, my baby geniuses, the loves of my life, my boys;
Styles - 9 Months Old - DEW - Male
Styles is the adventurous one, he rivals most females for activeness, and loves meeting new people and taking on new challenges. He is not so friendly with other rats, but tolerates them if I ask him to. He's my companion, and is learning to follow at my heel on command, amongst other things. He's epileptic, and seizes if he goes more than 2 hours without food. He's very sweet, and very smart. He chose me, and not the other way around, when he was just 8 weeks old!Isaac - 9 Months Old - Russian Blue Mismarked Possum - Male
Isaac is Styles' brother, but couldn't be more different! He enjoy lounging in my lap and relaxing, and is bonded with Sasha, the baby. He loves me and is super "licky," and is alright with my family, but doesn't like strangers very much. He is very empathetic, and if anyone is upset he wants to comfort them. He's the only boy who will tolerate wearing clothing and such, but I try not to bug him with it, haha. He's an incredibly handsome little rat- I've had breeders ask about him for daddy potential- and he knows it, but he's not too vain.Sasha - 3 months old - Blue Berkshire - Male
Sahsa is a very recent addition to the pack! When a local rat owner took in a surprise litter of 5 week old babies, I fell in love. So I picked Sasha up from his foster momma, and it was love from then on. He's a funny little rat, very active, but gets along more with Isaac than Styles. The two are very close, and spend most of their time grooming each other and napping in a pile. It was difficult to earn his trust and affection, he only just began enjoying me petting him and holding him. He's very aggressive, as far as my rats go, and very protective of his family. I watched my sister stick her hand in the cage to pet him- he's her favorite since he's the cleanest- and he didn't recognize her at first and lunged, fur on end, teeth ready for action. Thankfully, he recognized her before he bit, so all was well. He sort of tolerates my family, but I am the only person who he really trusts.So those are my boys! I love these guys to pieces! They're just incredible animals, easier to bring around than a dog, every bit as intelligent, less nippy than other rodents, and filled to the rim with love and personality! Don't know where I'd be without them <3
