Splits are based on a species of an extinct breed of dog called the Cordoba Fighting Dogs, which were known to protect and fight others. May scientists though of it to be a good idea to recreate this breed but the experiment failed miserably. The final product was this large dog with multiple gaps on it's body and odd liquify tails. This baffled the scientists since the gaps didn't show to cause any harm on this breed and it's tails did not fall apart.

Short Story

Percius was out on the hilltop in front of his home, painting. He was painting the incoming storm clouds as they rolled in, as he usually did, hoping the rain wouldn't get to his canvases. He stroked the canvas with the many different sizes of brushes, and bathed it in the dark murky colours of clouds. Just as he'd finished, the rain began patterning to the ground. He quickly grabbed his supplies as neatly as possible, and ran back down the hill, hoping nothing spilled in his bag.
When he reached home he set the painting down, his signature of his two canines poking through the canvas showed up once again in this painting. He hung the painting on a tack beneath his last one, proud of his creation he admired it thoughtfully before trotting to his window seal to watch the storm.
