Ah thanks. Not what I was hoping but I guess that adds on to the list of things going wrong today.

It's pretty easily fixable with frequent small water changes and not overfeeding. ^^
Then you'll just need to keep up a constant cleaning schedule after it clears up.

Yeah. I'm so confused about why it happened though. I make frequent water changes and the temp of the tank stays around 78 degrees. Idk I'll report back later after I see how things go

Hawkfeather22 wrote:Wait... you have guppies in with goldfish ? That's a HUGE mistake. All of your fish will die. Goldfish have high ammonia levels while guppies do not. Also guppies need a higher temperature. They would die from the cold.

It's very temporary. As in tomorrow it will be changed. First thing in the morning.

So I re-decorated my tank couple days ago. I thought I took pic of the half way state(=it being almost empty), but it seems I didn't. Which is bit of a bummer... :\ But anyway: Before-After
And bonus pics:
Corry being silly
Lousy growing swords...
Otto and her(?) beloved cucumber

Random note, but seeing this thread is almost at 900 pages. Who's taking over the new version(=making it)? Since the original starter hasn't been on in a while, I think.... :?

How many tanks do you have: 5, 6 if you count the 10 gallon that is waiting for a place to be set up and around 10 if you count the jars...
Mom says no more tanks until I get rid of the boy and girl tanks

3 gallon tetra brand w/Tetra whisper 10i and kinda broken led light- Females and Fry (20ish+)
3 gallon tetra brand w/Tetra whisper 10i- Males (20ish)
1.5 gallon tetra brand cube w/Tetra whisper 3i- Quarantine tank with 3 fish
1 gallon- Fry (10-15)
10 gallon w/ Tetra whisper 10i with bioscrubber and heater- Nuttin'

Type of fish that you have: Guppies, but I would love to get a betta or some Corries some day

Your fish's names:
not many of them have names, but the ones that do are:
Special K (he has a funky looking tail and has to swim slightly harder than the rest),
Shadow (A full black boy that I found at Petsmart!)
and Flags (Cool yellow snakeskin with a curve of interlocking dots on his tail) and those are the ones that I have named out of the 40+ more...

How long have you had fish:
I have kept fish for around a year now, but I have had fish influence my whole life. (Literally, I love fish. Eat 'em, Keep 'em, Catch and release 'em.)

---------------------------------
I am also having a slight problem with a tank

How many gallons is your tank? : 10 gallons

How many fish and what types are they? : I am planning on stocking it with my pretty babies
How long has it been running? : it has been running since last August but after my tank was wiped out in mid-late July, it has been running now since late July/ Early August

Did you cycle it? : I am cycling it ATM

If possible what are the ammonia nitrite and nitrate levels? : I am going to find that out soon, I don't have a test kit yet :(

What is the issue or question? : So, this tank had a major bout of Columinaris in July which killed most of my fish (including my first boy) and so I took it apart and cleaned it, no heavy cleaners though. I set it back up and let it start cycling (fishless), it got cloudy on the second day (I think that is good), and so I did a 10% water change. On the second week, I added two small fry (a week or two old) in a floating fry box thing. They lived there completely fine for around another week. Then I went to Petsmart because it is my favorite store and I was wanting to see if they had any nice girls to widen the narrow gene pool I have. So I got home and started to acclimate her and took the fry out of the box, then I let her out after an hour of acclimating her to my water. She was fine for two days, but she was lethargic, most likely because she was in the fry box. On the third day of having her, I added 3 of my own fish 1 boy (he was my best, his name was Ashes, he was a smokey gray half black with a big bright orange tail and impressive dorsal) and two girls. That is where it went downhill. The girls were hiding and after a day I found out that they had what looked to be ich but wasn't, it was fluffier looking. And they all died within a week. After a couple of weeks (this scenario is last week) I added two small fry to the tank to see what would happen. They both died within two days and when I found them they had a couple of fluffy spots and their bodies had a translucent fluffiness to them. (Fluffy and fuzzy are the only ways I can describe it) I immediately did another water change and added a bit of Melafix to the tank (because it is the only medicine that I have on hand at the moment, I need to mow the lawn soon...) Last time I had my water tested, the ph was quite low and I was told to restart the tank. The only living thing in that tank right now is a clump of dwarf hairgrass that I got a couple of weeks ago. Any idea of what might be happening?

Sorry that it is so long, I wanted to put in all of the details I have about it.
