Dourani Shepherds are the 178th breed to be recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC). This breed is categorized with the working dogs, and are used for various tasks. Being that they are highly intelligent, very strong, dependable and obedient Dourani Shepherds are a lesser known, but coveted breed of dog. What makes these dogs truly unique is their markings. These dogs are capable of sporting the markings of not only the German Shepherd breed, but they can sport the coat colors of any other dog breed as well. Their most defining feature is their large clawed forepaws, that somewhat resemble bear paws.

While some of this breed is domestic, much of it is still wild, and the wild ones of this breed operate very similar to wolf packs - if wolves had the claws of a bear.
omega- The lowest of the low. They are usually the last to eat of a wild pack, and often times bullied by higher ranking members. These dogs are the jokesters that keep the rest of the pack form tearing one another apart.
Pups- Slightly higher than omegas. They are the young and the future of the pack, and are often raised by each member of the pack; not just the birth parents.
Elders- These are the older dogs of the pack, they are respected by every single member of the pack, and help the den mothers tend to the densities while the pack is away.
Den Mothers- Much like surrogates, these are currently pregnant females that cannot go beyond the densite to hunt. They stay behind and watch after any pups as well as maintain the dens.
Juveniles/Pack- These are the majority of the pack. Juveniles learn to hunt from more experienced members of the pack. The rest of the members of this rank make up the majority that hunt for the pack and defend the packland.
beta- Second in command. These dogs are the alpha's trusted, and are in charge of the pack while the alpha pair is away or too ill to serve the pack. Normally if the alphas have no heirs the betas will assume command and rank when BOTH alphas pass on.
Alpha- The leading pair of dogs in any pack. Alpha male and female lead packs of around 15-20 dogs and are normally always a mated pair.

Please check the website (though it is currently still unfinished) it will have most of the information about the species and will continue to be updated as I find time. I have decided that these guys have been dormant for long enough and the first littler (Shepherds 1-5) will be released within a few hours.
