...I don't like my odds on getting the outcomes.

You should be fine, actually. I missed quite a lot last year but it was easy as pie to get the outcomes, provided you got them immediately and didn't wait for the grown up dogs. There's too much of a chance of one of the dogs getting ridiculous demand right off the bat, like the dragon dog last year.

My dog got something in common with my two previous staff dogs.

Or something coming off of the head?

Maybe it's the expression of the mouth, since both have the same. c:

Some similarities I noticed:
-Are at least slightly related to flying creatures/feathers (peacocks can fly, right?)
-Have little swirls on the corner of their eyes
-Have spots
-Are based off real animals (I think)
