Contrary, perhaps, to their name, Pocket Monsters
are in fact not pocket-sized. They're so named because
they inhabit the land of Pocket, a vast continent surrounded
by an even vaster ocean (which, it should be noted, has
never been successfully crossed, because it is chock-full of
sea monsters). Pocket Monsters are actually about the same
size as humans (if a little smaller on average), with the average
height of an adult ranging from anywhere between 4 and 5.5 feet.
They are highly intelligent and self-aware, as well as social.
Pocket Monsters live in extended family groups, containing
anywhere from 2 to 40 members (the largest reported family group
had 119 members), including parents, siblings, their partner
(& occasionally their partner's family), children, and sometimes
their siblings' partner and children (& their partner's family).
Pocket Monsters are monogamous, and same-sex relationships are
equally as common as opposite-sex ones. Pocket Monsters are only
capable of giving birth twice in their lives, and are always born in
groups (called batches) of four.
