What is a Makoatl?
A Makoatl is a terrestrial shark-dragon hybrid recently discovered
off the coast of the Greenland sea. They have the powerful tail
and jaws of a shark, with the body and (occasional) horns of a dragon.
They usually have manes, and are covered in thick coats of fur-
adapted to keeping out the cold in their native habitat.
They live on a diet of mainly meat and fish, and are known to be vicious
hunters! Despite this attitude toward their prey, however, they
are very protective and mothering to their offspring,
as well as to each other the majority of the time.

For being of a sea nation we are prone to attack by those wishing to steal our resources, and it was a brutal battle. No magic of my family could hold off the onslot of the enemy for long. No it took the cunning of myself and my men. The invaders were coming through to our home through a narrow pass. Blocking this pass did more harm then good because then we were trapped. And so instead of fighting head on we hid within the pass, in the small caves and holes hidden from eyes and caught the invaders in a pincher maneuver. We desemated their forces. And I orchestrating and then leading this attack was rewarded with a piece of the family jewels. Showing that cunning out matches raw tallent.

This is Rayna

Rayna is Agender, and prefers they/their
pronouns. Their jewelry was a special gift from
their mom before she left for a year-long trip to
West Africa for her job. It's been 10 months since
this 15 year old Makoatl's mom left, and they're
anxiously waiting for her return. Rayna has always
been dependent on their mother, holding on
to a little piece of their mother has greatly
helped them deal with the loss and has reminded
her of fun memories that shall be continued when

Apparently, they were used as wedding/mating rings when him and my grandmother were married. My grandmother had lost all the toes in a tragic accident, so my grandfather decided to make wedding bracelets instead of wedding bands. They both wore one on their left foreleg, and I wear them now around both of my wrists to show my love and honor for them, I also hope that when I myself find my true love, I will give her one of them when we marry," he ends by looking down at the bands fondly, wishfully. "You can't see, but on the inside of each band, they are inscribed with the words 'Together in a never-ending current of love.'
Going back down on all fours, he then lifts on paw up to his necklace, "This necklace, is very special to me because it was something that my mother got for me, she had it custom made by some very good friends of hers. It was a gift that she gave me just before I left my family to go out on my own. How he got his Jewelry:

The shine, the elegance, the spectacular piece was hard to ignore. Little Reggie couldn't afford such luxurious items like that. But he so loved the pieces of jewelry that mimicked armor. He tried to save up his money, he even thought about stealing them, but he felt bad just thinking about it. Reggie decided he would just wait till he could convince his parents to get it for him. However; soon the pieces were sold, and Reggie's dream couldn't be fulfilled. It took a little over a month for his disappointment to fade, but he still coveted that jewelry.
Fast forward to a couple years back; Now in a full time security guard position, Reggie could feel his old desire burning in the back of his mind. He had the money to buy many of the things he ever wanted as a child, but his heart yearned for that jewelry set from so long ago. He searched for it and anything like it until he ran out of steam. How could it be so hard to find such a set. He discussed his failure with his friends and family, letting them know to look out for such a set and to let him know if they find one. He decided to treat himself to a couple of piercings just to cheer himself up. A couple rings in his dorsal fin proved to help his mood, though it made him a tad sore. He hoped that if he could find that faux armor set that it would match his new piercings. It took a few weeks of adjusting to his new jewelry and getting over his inability to find what he so desired.
It was getting close to Christmas, and the onslaught of cards and invites made Reggie feel even better as gatherings usually made him forget his troubles. After a good couple of weeks of Christmas feasts and small gatherings to open presents, the true day of Christmas came about. This was the day that he and his parents gathered to exchange presents and have their own private feast. It never was much, a nice big dinner ending in a gathering around the big Christmas tree and passing around the few gifts that were bought. Reggie got his mother a new set of pots and pans like she wanted, and he gave his father a new radio. He himself wasn't expecting nothing more than the usual shirt, hat, or misc. trinkets he would point out around this time of year. He received two small presents from each of his parents, a tie chain with a Celtic knot and a new set of rings to put in his dorsal fin. But there was still a medium-ish present under the tree. There was no name on it, neither parent claimed it, but a tage was stuck to it that said "from: Santa". Well, that was odd, Reggie definitely didn't believe in that tall tale any more, so why did his parents feel the need to put it on there. Did one of his cousins not come around and this was for them? However; his mother pushed the strange box towards him with expectant eyes.
"Go on, this one's for you too." Her soft voice prodded him to start unwrapping the paper. Slowly but surely he peeled away the wrapping paper and carefully pulled the tape from the flaps of the cardboard box. What else could've they gotten him that was so special as to put 'from: santa' on it. Then his eyes grew wide as he uncovered the gift inside. The shiny silver was unmistakeable, and the purple jewels that adorned the chest plate looked just as new as when he had laid eyes on it so long ago. How could this be the same set from his childhood? Maybe they custom ordered it for him, or they found the original buyer, but here it was, sitting in front of him. There was no way he could ever finish thanking his parents for finding this. He barely managed a "Thank you" before he broke out in tears.
