I don't like Ocarina of Time.

You can really start with any Zelda game, since they have very self-contained plots (besides the Adult Timeline), but BY WORD the fanbase is horrendous.
Also, if you like going into games without knowing much about them, DO NOT LOOK UP ANYTHING LOZ-RELATED.

On of the things I hate about the Zelda fandom: PEOPLE WHO MAKE BEST-TO-WORST ZELDA GAMES LIST FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF DEMONIZING THE DS GAMES. A few examples can be found on this thread, and you can find several of those on Tumblr you search "Spirit Tracks" and click "most recent". Somebody should make an entire Guren no Yumiya video about DS Zelda hate.

They're not "demonizing" them on purpose, they're just stating their opinions for why they rated the games the way they did. I personally don't see anything wrong with it, as people do the same with just about everything in the video game world; favorite consoles, favorite Final Fantasy games, favorite Mario games, the list can go on forever.

^ I'm going to have to agree with Mana on this one. I've seen things quite like that all over the video game world. nvn It isn't too bad based on what I've seen, it seems that they're just expressing their opinions in an unbiased way. ;v; I wouldn't let it bother you hun, I'd just enjoy the games you like to play and let the fandom do what they want- as much as it might be irritating to see people disliking a certain game, or a group of games. You'll probably see it all over the place and not just DS Zelda.

True, but some of the stuff I've seen is taking it a bit too far. Or maybe I'm the one taking it too far... whatever the case, video game fandoms as a whole suck. This is why TV Tropes turned me off Spyro.

I'll agree with you there. In some cases I've seen people exaggerate things a bit if they don't like and it's a little bothersome. Like when they type things like the whole series or whatever should have never been made or should be burned? It's kind of irritating, but I don't really care much anymore, since lately I haven't been playing many video games at all to check in with the fandoms.

I'm too scared to play another Spyro game, since I'm worried I'll start fandom-liking it, then being ridiculed by the Spyro general fanbase. ;-;
At least Little Tail Bronx's fandom is nice.

I don't usually interact with the fandoms of games I like because it's too tiresome to keep up with them all. Spyro: Season of Ice was one of my favorite games as a kid, and it still is, but the Spyro fandom is really immature, so I ignore them.
If you're worried about what the fandom thinks, just don't be. They're all human, just like you. You're all equals, regardless of what any of you say or think. If it really bothers you that much, just don't become a part of the fandom. Enjoy Spyro on your own terms.
