Maplestorm ran through the forest. A grin was plastered on his face, his white and ginger paws barely touching the ground. It felt like he was the last cat on earth, and he could do whatever he wanted. He felt like it was up to him to save the world. I'm just a believer. But that's okay. Things will get better for me. They will. Maplestorm closed his eyes as he continued to race through a clearing. He opened his eyes and skidded to a halt. The border. I didn't know I had run so far. What's behind it? I wonder... Maplestorm lifted a paw slowly. It hung in the air for a moment until he heard someone say, "What are doing?" Well, it wasn't a meow, more of a squeak. Maplestorm put his paw back down on his side of the border. Slowly, he turned around. "I could ask you the same, Dawnkit." Dawnkit rolled her eyes. "I'm following you. And YOU were just about to go over the border." She tilted her head, triumph in her eyes. Maplestorm did quick thinking. "I could have just been raising my paw. And YOUR border is the camp entrance. Wait until I tell Owlstar. Or better yet, your mother." Maplestorm started to stalk off toward the camp. Dawnkit trotted behind him silently. When they got back to camp, Rainstorm was waiting. "Dawnkit! Where have you been?" She meowed. "Well, I went out-" "with me to hunt." Maplestorm finished. Rainstorm narrowed her eyes. "Where's the prey?" Maplestorm shrugged. He let out a yawn before answering. "Dawnkit was carrying it." Maplestorm turned to face Dawnkit. His back was to Rainstorm, so he smiled and mouthed, You're welcome kid. Dawnkit held her breath until her cheeks were red, so it looked like she was blushing. "I-I forgot it." Maplestorm sighed. "Kits." He meowed and walked away. He saw Darkcloud eating a rabbit, and sat next to her, picking up a bird of his own. His sister was staring at Brackenflame. "Drool why don't you." He mumbled.
