Brash and honest to a fault, Dax isn't exactly what most would call a "soft" person, and because of this many tend to keep him at arms length. He can be quite rude to others, perhaps not intending to insult or demean and yet many of his comments come off as such. Competitive and rough, he isn't one to give up easily, and is often quite stubborn, regardless of situation. Cocky and flirtatious, he could perhaps attract more interest if he wasn't as gruff and irritable if one gets too close. It is unknown if a soft side exists to Dax, and so he requires friends and potential interests that are just as rough as him in personality, however it may be possible for him to get to know someone who is quieter and less harsh that he is.



What do you look for when adopting a Mako?
A connection to the mako is a big one for me -- and I need to know I can keep that connection for longer than a few days. Easy to replicate designs that I like with more muted colour schemes are generally the ones I am attracted to also.

What kind of Halloween themed events would you like to see?
I love Hanni's idea of a costume contest, that would be quite interesting~ Halloween themes makos would be cool as well~

What aspect in your mako's design do you like the best?
Probably the blues <33 The greys are super nice also, but I love the blues. The simplicity of his design is wonderful as well >w<

What are your mako's phobias, or fears?
He doesn't have any major ones, only some smaller ones.

Does your mako prefer tea, coffee?
Coffee, not that I'm a fan of it myself lmao

What do you look for when adopting a Mako?

Erm... usually if I like the design, if I click, and what type of contest.
Simple contests are nice, and couple week long contests are usually ones I go for.

What kind of Halloween themed events would you like to see?

Oh, costume contest would be cool, or maybe even 'trick or treating' where we can 'ring a doorbell' of the staff members, and we either get treats(tokens/ items) or tricks(maybe mako raffle tickets or nothing.)

I have a little update on some rules
I have heard in multiple places, multiple times that some of you are concerned with the quality of Makos that Mai has been putting out due to the quantity of them. I wanted to let you all know, that Juliette and I have talked with our staff about it already from the first time it was put up. We, the staff and I, find no problem with the quality of the designs. Many of you continue to go after them.

It has also been addressed that some of you are upset with Mai already having a custom. I realize this is very soon, and too soon for most of you to be okay with. I apologize for that. Of course she's done lots of hard work already, and has been doing a lot of behind the scenes stuff for all of our upcoming events that will be literally be spanning between October - February. That's 5 events in a row and a lot to do before then. [I wont reveal which holidays. There's one that you won't be expecting though]

She's also in college, and since it hasn't really kicked into gear yet, she's had a lot of time to design. Many of these designs are ones that people have suggested. They were mostly quick contests as well. She will be busy, off and on with schooling, but regardless, will continue to design Makos for you. Please don't think she did it for the custom and will never design again.

I appreciate everyone's concern for the well being of this species. I do appreciate it, and all the forms for staff applications. I would like to ask you not to attack any of the staff for doing one thing or another. They all work very hard for what you see and things you can't see yet. Sorry I had to write this at all, I just have been getting the same question on ask and some PM's over it already and I wanted to address it finally myself.

Of course constructive criticism is always welcomed about how we can improve the species, but we don't really need people looking out for our species as we can handle it ourselves. The staff addresses many things that come up so only don't have to send in questions multiple times or PM's about it unless it's urgent and needs to be corrected [Harassment, art theft, blah] If there are other things that have not been attended to, please only send one PM or ask.fm question at a time. That way we don't get swamped in too many PM's from everywhere.

Thanks so much for everyone's time and effort with the questions as well. These will be taken into account as we plan the Halloween event for all of you! C:

What are the first things that come to your mind when you hear Christmas/December?

All of the extremely catchy songs. :S Besides that, mostly these really minty candies that show up around stores~

What's your favorite Pokemon? What's your Mako's favorite pokemon?

Mine by FAR, is Breloom. ;w; I used to have a wonderfully bred shiny one with high IV's as well as poison heal that I had named Prince. Of course I also had thunder punch on him and a poison orb equipped. However, Honededge and Doubleblade definitely are on my top list too since I lost my shiny Breloom.

Axel, following his wonderful theme, has a love for Vespiquen. Vespiquen was a top favorite of his playing through Platinum version.

I'll just add a small tidbit to what Cole said;
-I do put a lot of effort into my designs. I plan ahead of doing them A LOT. Most of the ones I put out at the start were suggestions from you guys. You all did half of the work for me; as coming up with the concept is often the difficult part;As cole said; They were all quick contests; as you guys ALSO requested more of those. But also as cole said; My college is picking up now and i'll be unable to do as many, that's why I was spending all of my free time designing,before i'd have to slow down. That's not to suggest I rushed them or didn't spend time on them; just that I didn't do anything else for those few days.
The reason I finish them so fast is not a matter of 'im rushing them'; its a medical condition that causes me to work extremely fast; even if I TRY to take a long time;I'm physically incapable of it.(if you don't believe that;you're free to message me for details and I will be happy to explain every single one of my mental disorders)

-I did NOT do my custom for the sake of a custom. I brought it up as a SUGGESTION for an adopt for you guys; when we were talking about pokemon mako designs for something else. I mentioned someone should make a shiny Arcanine and Cole said that I should do that for my custom; so I did, I didn't ask to make a custom,or was even GOING to make one until then. I'm not slowing down with designs because 'oh i got my custom i dont need to do anything else', i'm slowing down because you guys told me to.
I've done two pokemon based designs SINCE then, for you guys; that I am just not posting BECAUSE you wanted me to slow down.
One with really heavy line edits that took me HOURS to do; and by far puts the small edits on my custom to shame.

Please don't make accusations like that; it really hurts my feelings when I do my very best to make designs for you guys qnq
I really love the species; and I don't like that people are acting like this already; when as far as I know i've only been nice and friendly to everyone; and given you no reason to think i'd do something like that.

I respect your opinions, I really do, and do my best to work with you guys. You tell me to slow down? Okay I will; you tell me to do quick contests? Righto, you suggest birds or cats or snails? Gotcha, even if its a difficult design or color palette to work with; i'll challenge myself to make someone happy.
If you don't like my designs, don't try out for them.Its as simple as that,just remember that we're all human; not just me but the rest of the staff. Its really frustrating when we do our best; and all we get is complaints.

Spending time with my family ID haha; every year we get together

My favorite is Arcanine; I spent a year getting my shiny bab QuQ~
I'm p sure my mako's don't know what pokemon is; other than Tyrael;
His favorite is Charizard.

My favorite Pokemon is either Meowth or Magmortar/Magmar/Magby!

Sai's favorite Pokemon are Milotic and Ninetales.

I've actually never thought about Gamble's or Enero's favorites. Enero maybe likes Sharpedo or Charizard. Gamble would probably like Mewtwo the best.

Realistically though Gamble is probably the only one of them who is actually familiar with Pokemon at all. XD He probably used to love it.

What are the first things that come to your mind when you hear Christmas/December?

My birthday nudges it's way through like yes hello, coming up, don't forget to plan a party! xD Then it's the music, which Christmas music annoys me really bad. We have this clock that plays little songs every hour, every day, so I hear the Christmas jingles all year around e.e Then it's the pretty lights~ Christmas lights and decorations are lovely.

Mine is aracanie <3 Second favorite is shiny umbreon~ I made a cosplay for that one xD
As for my Makos... Shiro's is horsea and Robin's being Octillery~

What aspect in your mako's design do you like the best?
Mercury's horn, and the circle/spots in his mane. Mercury is beautiful anyway, but bright purple unicorn horn? I mean that's fantastic!

What are your mako's phobias, or fears?
He fears being caught, Mercury is a thief after all, and the idea of finally being caught out scares him.

Does your mako prefer tea, coffee?
Neither, he thinks coffee sucks and tea is boring. Hot Chocolate is his favorite. He does like hot chocolate with a little coffee in it though.
