believe it or not, read! i've written books of over 200,000 words before, and the best way to do it is to read. a lot. the more you read, the more ideas pop up and stew in your mind. also, keep a small notepad with you. write down interesting things, like people, places, or events or ideas. ouo

I don't think you should jump into entire books if you're not ready. Start by completing short stories. Once you get experience fleshing out a plot for a short story and sticking with that story through the whole writing process, then you can start thinking about whole novels. But that's definitely something you work up to.

I feel like I am ready, like I've written probably 100's of short stories and completed them, but they are all lost at the dump or turned into some recycled item by now
Hmm. I think I have a cool way of finding a plot so lets see if this works, if it does I'll let you all know.

I have another writing idea! And I've read a lot, but when I go to write a prologue and tell myself to write at least 2 pages, I get a 4 sentenced paragraph. Maybe I can make my stories around one or two chapters?
The idea is - An orphan boy has been taken/adopted by a fancy lady. Her children have moved away and she has began to grow a tad old, she decides to adopt an orphan and takes home *boy's name* from there, starts a story of hatred for her from the boy, to a love of the life she granted him.
I was thinking about having it towards those old europe times and the boy be around 7-8 and at the end he's almost an adult and she dies from old age and he realises how much he cared for her because he'll try to get away all the time first.
Sound like a good one? It just popped into my head xD
I might make this one a long one like a short book story but I'll practice short stories first.
Signature under construction.

How many important characters do you think an author can kill in one book/series without it being ridiculous? Some authors never let a single character die, despite all odds, and others... Well, others wrote Game of Thrones.
O.O if it's a novel about a girl going to Paris to study fashion and not going to the Captiol and fighting for her life, deaths aren't exactly necessary.
Sure, I loved "The Outsiders" and "The Fault in Our Stars", but they made me sad and I need happy stories or I get depressed.
I found errors in my fan fic, but I'm in too much pain and I'm too tired to correct them.
The story was supposed to be in Cali's POV, but I can't write first person and I love the feeling of being a god who can read all of the characters thoughts and secrets.
When "Auntie Flow" decides to leave me be again, I'll try to not be lazy due to school and utter pain (though I'm proud of Chapter 8).

It sounds like a good story line you have, but it sounds kind of typical, you know what I mean. Maybe some sort of plot twist? Maybe the lady's kid could come back for some reason- like they had a divorce so they didn't have a house or something, and then the lady's child takes in the kid?
I don't know.
