The Doctor side stepped Tear just in time. "How are you still around? You were dead?" The Doctor demanded. He dug out his sonic screwdriver and kept an eye on the two of them. Why does everything always spiral out of control? It's one thing or another. "Why do you want her anyway? I'm here now, I know you'd rather have me."

The Master’s mind always ran a step ahead. He was going to bargain. “Doctor…I do not want her. She was always my pawn ever since her existence. Have I not already explained that she is nothing but a mere robot of my own creation? Her purpose in this life is only to lead you to this trap, which she has done successfully. Here you are! You’re standing right before me! And as for the ‘girl’, I can kill her with a snap of my fingers, literally. I can make her self destruct by killing her own self, limb by limb as you watch in agony. Answer me Doctor: just how many people have you witness die before your very own eyes?”

The Doctor bit his lip as he desperately thought of some safe way out of this. He knew the Master would do it, there was no denying it. He was driven mad by the eternal drumming in his head. He had to work very carefully to avoid angering the Master. "Is that really necessary?" The Doctor asked. "As I am here now, and not fighting you, there is no real reason to keep her under your power anymore. No need to waste your energy on her. Why don't you release her? She can't possibly cause more trouble than I would."

The Master replied in a slightly malevolent tone of voice, “It’s just amusing and fun to watch you suffer, Doctor. This is a perfect way of making you suffer…” He directed his gaze towards Mystearica, and with a flick of his wrist, electricity began to swallow and flicker around her body as she stumbled onto her knees, her teeth gritted as her hands clenched on the white tiled floor. “Ow…” she murmured as she began to clutch her head and put it on the floor. Coughing up blood, it trickled down her chin as she looked up to the Doctor with helpless eyes.
“Once I’m finished with her, I’ll make sure that you suffer even worse!” he exclaimed.

The Doctor avoided looking at Tear. He could feel how much pain she was in. Stupid plan, dangerous plan, but a plan none the less. He flicked the sonic screwdriver and pointed it at his head. "Let her go, or I will take you fun away," he said in a stern voice. "I will liquefy my brain in a millisecond. No coming back from that. Then, no more plaything for you." He glanced at Mystearica and his heart nearly broke with pity. Hang on girl. If anyone can, it's you.

"I will never lose to the Doctor..." scoffed the Master as he ceased the electricity current. He laughed his evil laugh before continuing, "I will leave you alone for the time being, but I shall be back! I shall be back! You must run, Doctor. You must run like you always run, for there is a bomb that is planted in this building! Run your TARDIS before it is too late. The ten minute countdown will start soon...I've placed a labyrinth right outside of here with a little obstacle waiting for you. And here you go...it starts...NOW!" In a flash of light, he disappeared as Mystearica stumbled to her feet, tugging at the collar around her neck that shattered and fell to the floor, leaving bruise marks on her skin.
That screwdriver...is more than just a screwdriver, isn't it...? Walking towards the Doctor in a slight limp, she asked, "There's a labyrinth? Where's the TARDIS? What are we going to do, Doctor?"

"There is now, where I left it, so wrong dimension, and run!" The Doctor said, answering each question in order. He took Tear's hand and ran towards an opening in the wall. When the two arrived at the other side, they were greeted with a pale blue-violet wall showing their reflections. "A mirror maze? I love these things," The Doctor smiled, briefly forgetting the danger they were in. "Right. Bomb." He buzzed his sonic screwdriver at the wall. "Interesting. Electric shock. I would have thought you would have been more creative. Ah well, you always disappoint anyway." The Doctor shrugged. He knew the Master was watching, and he knew that the Master wouldn't be happy with his ribbing. "Rules of this maze: Follow my steps precisely, don't touch anything, and don't touch anything."

“Yes, Doctor…” she replied, interested at how cool the maze looked, even though “cool” was a very inappropriate word choice if a person was to consider the fact that their lives were put at risk. She felt a rush of fear run through her mind as she recalled the last time when being instructed not to touch anything: she touched the things that she wasn’t supposed to and ended up dying. What is this feeling that I’m getting…? she asked to herself as her special eyes activated yet again. “Doctor…I feel like we’re being…watched…watched as though we were in some movie where the audience anticipates our deaths…” Looking at the many paths to choose from she asked him, “Turn left? Turn right? Go straight? Or do we climb up that staircase? How about down? What do we do? We’ve got nine minutes and two seconds…”

"The reason why I am very good at these things," The Doctor commented, "is because I follow a very simple logic. Pick a way, then if I run out of doors..." He stood before a random patch of wall, studying it closely. This will do nicely. "I make one," he said with a playful grin. He buzzed a door shape into the wall. The electricity was blocked and the Doctor dragged Tear through. "You have to stay on your toes. If you are too slow, you will die." He decided to go left and started running down a corridor, his long brown coat flapping majestically.

Bewildered, she asked, “Why will I die? Are the walls going to close up slowly? I don’t…understand…” Following quickly behind, the pure whiteness of the walls almost drove her insane. Why are all of the walls…white? I suppose it’s better than being all black… Turning her attention back to the situation at hand, she noticed that the Master really was making the walls close in slowly. Because she was behind the Doctor, she would be the victim of being squashed. As they became narrower, she bumped slightly against each side as she ran. “Now I feel sorry for killing bugs…this is probably how they feel, I guess…”
