Roya watched as Midnight walked to the river. Her stomach started to growl at her, so she decided to go and catch herself some breakfast.

Midnight drank from the icey water and licking his lips, he edged the rest of it dripping from his mouth to the grass. Unfortunately nobody was all that awake, so maybe he could go exploring for a while in the wilderness. He trotted off, his tail swinging from side to side and his ears alert for anything that he might come upon. All seemed quiet and peaceful, and that's how most of their mornings were.

Kalika's ears twitched at the sounds of morning birds. Her eyes slowly opened, but she was still tired from the little sleep she obtained. She rose to her paws and stretched, her muscles stiff from sleeping awkwardly. She sighed and glanced around, disappointed to see few wolves awake. Her belly rumbled with hunger, but she knew the pack came first before her. She scanned the area, searching for something to do before she decided to hunt for herself.

Roya crouched below a bush, waiting for her victim to come close enough to strike. A baby fawn wandered away from its mother, oblivious of Royaletta. Finally, after what seemed like forever, Roya lunged and caught the baby by the neck, killing it swiftly. She started to drag it back to her den.

[Silent Smile]

It wasn't until the sunlight hit Lusa's eyelids that she finally decided to wake up. She stood up slowly, like an elder, and walked out of the den. After a few stretches, she walked to the river and dunked her head in it. Her head shot back up, and for a moment she sat there, shivering. It may have been a form of torture, but at least it woke her up.

After wolfing down breakfast, Roya, again, looked outside to see if anyone had woken up yet. Jeez, they're a bunch of sleepy heads today she thought, annoyed. She was a very energetic wolf and hated having nothing to do.

Midnight came back from his morning stroll to find that most of his pack was awake. He breathed in the autumn air slowly, trying to replenish its beautiful scent. He exhaled and walked up to the sort of, center to where they were? Anyways, he lifted his ears and tail for their attention and called out, "Who would like to join me on a quick patrol? Yes, hunting may be involved if you like, along with scent marking." He glanced around and waited for them to respond to his actions.

Kalika swiveled her head in Midnight's direction. When no other wolf said anything, she sighed and padded over to him. "I'll go," she offered. She needed something to do, anyway, and her belly reminded her of its emptiness. She longed for the feeling of a hunt; she missed the rush of adrenaline she felt as she whisked through the trees, the wind snarling her fur. Kalika's mouth started to water at the thought of food.

Lusa shook her head and padded out of camp on her own. The crisp autumn air stung her nose, but she ignored, focussing instead on the leaves under her paws and the wind in the trees. Her ears were pricked for the sound of anything that could possibly be prey, and as she walked she noticed a hum. It wasn't the hum of human things, or og crickets, but the hum of life. Autumn was such a beautiful time of year, possibly her favorite.
