She was not truly sleeping but in a different type of state where she could traverse dreams and then she came across Lydia's, watching the scenes play out because she wanted to know what happened and afterwards she would help fix the nightmare.

The dream somewhat timeskipped {idk} to a few minutes later, and Lydia was bolting towards Dotty the second she saw her. "DOTTTYYYYYYY WHY AM I A PONY" She screamed, skidding to a stop infront of her. {too lazy to write out the rest X3}

She had seen enough and went to work fixing the dream and calming it to make it just a dream and not a nightmare while keeping completely out of Lydia's sight.

She finally finished what she was doing and just let the dream continue quite a lot more calmly and it started off with her being human so she made the dream back to a peaceful human dream.
