"I probably would've wanted proof." He lifts an eyebrow. "And made the point that I carry an armory on my back." He tugs on the strap of his bag.

Ivy tilted her head curiously. "What sort of things do you have in there?" she asked interestedly. "I can't imagine you can fit a whole lot in there."

Miles shrugs. "It's probably whatever Mei decided was useful enough to grab. If she doesn't her her pistols with her, which I doubt, they're in there. Back up weapons. Anything we need to set traps and make camp. Actually, now that I think of it, she could be going back to the ship to... erm... retrieve our other belongings." He flashes a toothy smile at the end. He knows, and he knows well, that if Mei has returned to the ship she's not just "retrieving their belongings".

Ivy nodded. "So you really don't know," she observed, but she said it jokingly. "Do you always just go by what Mei says? I'd get tired of listening to someone tell me what to do all the time."

Miles shrugs his shoulders, he's clearly accepted his role as follower. His imposing, guard dog role as follower. "Mei takes after my mother a little too closely. They take charge or they don't work. It's just the way they are." He runs his fingers through his hair, mussing it entirely. "I haven't bothered to look through the whole bag, no. I'm too.." Miles scrunches his nose. "Lazy is a good word. And I trust her. She's... well, she's Mei, but she's not one to make the wrong decision." Again, he flashes a smile. "Besides, if it weren't for her I'd be dead a hundred times over. That's as good a reason to listen as any, right?"

Ivy shrugged then nodded in agreement. "I guess so," she said, but it was hesitant. "I understand why it would make sense to keep listening to her, I just don't see how you can put up with it for so long."

"I have a lot of vacation time." He says with a shrug. "Like I said, she disappears a lot and I'm lazy."

Ivy laughed. "I already knew the lazy part. I figured it for myself, based on how much you love to sleep and eat." She frowned then said, "And where is everyone? It seems like they should be back by now."

Miles only shrugs. "Maybe they're lazier than I."

Ivy rolled her eyes. "No one is lazier than you," she said with a grin. "Though I think Niami is a close second."
