do you get annoyed when an artist takes 100000000 years to finish a commish? jw because I'm one of those and I always feel really bad. I would rather wait until my muse is up for it than give out crappy art. Would you rather get lower quality art faster, or higher quality art late?
I'd rather get higher quality art later, although only as far as my patience will allow.
If I'm kept up to date then that's fine. Like, if an artist is busy in their life, or has art block or whatever, I'm fine. As long as I'm told. If I'm not told, then I get impatient because I think they're just avoiding my commission. I've waited a year for art before, and okay I get a little grumpy but hopefully it's worth it in the end. But I generally will prefer it when they get it to me quicker, so I don't need to chase them, as few people actually keep you in the loop.

Maybe once I've sold more of them away then I can keep it at that second one but I'm still a little over the "select few" at 40
