Oh yeah, mine probably does too
I'm in a bit of a Halloween mood since it went from being 30 degress to 17 in two days and it's such a nice break. I love fall QvQ
I just can't wait to stack some rocks (stably) high and make some caves. Then scatter the bottom with little skulls and have some Khulis poking in and out of them XD

Ooh thanks Fly!
And themes? Omg I never even thought of theming a tank ;0; -screeches-
That Halloween tank sounds completely entirely awesome, wow. I honestly can't think of anything to suggest that you haven't already mentioned!
You definitely need to keep us updated! I'd love to see some pictures once it's all set up :"D
(Also - any idea what size tank a dinosaur bichir would need, and if there are any fish they get along specifically well or badly with, anyone? I know a 30 gallon probably isn't big enough but there are some dinosaur bichirs I saw for sale yesterday and they were just to die for. Might have to look into a bigger tank >U>)

Holy crap that tank is 66 Gallons XD
Pff my dad needs to measure things before he tells me how big they are.
I'll be able to get something bigger for my centrepiece then weeee
(if I'm allowed to set it up - my dad said I could but that was months ago so we'll see if he's still good with it lmao)
EDIT: I was using aquadviser and I got this: It's 104% and still not sure about angelfish
12 X Black Neon Tetra
6 X Sunburst Platy (will probably just get a mix of orange ones)
6 X Longfin Zebra Danio
5 X Albino Cory
12 X Glass Catfish
2 X Half Banded Spiny Eel
1 X Angelfish
I think they'd all look very spooky and Halloweeny together ovo
Especially if I get some tombstones for the cories to swim around. And some nice skulls for the eels.
Plus nothing screams Halloween quite like a glass cat.

That is so awesome! I'd die for that tank! I wish I had the money for that size tank but I don't.

Good luck and keep us updated.

How many gallons is your tank? : 12 gallons
How many fish and what types are they? : 2 goldfish, one is a black moore and the other a comet/common? i can't really tell them apart
How long has it been running? : it's been about a month I think
Did you cycle it? : I didn't, as I did not know about it when I bought the tank, and the fish were in a really small bowl which they probably would have died in had I not moved them out asap
If possible what are the ammonia nitrite and nitrate levels? : haven't been able to find a test kit so I don't know
What is the issue or question? : My bigger fish, the orange one, keeps chasing the small black one I have around the tank. I don't know if it's because the tank is too small, or if he's just aggressive, maybe? I don't really know what I could do besides get a larger tank, and that's just not possible considering budget+space. Maybe I should get a smaller fish in place of the orange one?
It's my first time owning fish, and they were a gift from a friend who knew I loved them, so I really don't want them to die.
You shouldn't keep commons with fancies. Fancy goldfish (moors especially) are slow swimmers, while comets are very fast. The moor will not only be harassed by it, but won't get enough food. Also, you will need at least 50 gallons for the comet alone once it's full sized. Minimum for the Moor is 20.
I'd suggest rehoming the comet and then getting a 20 gallon for Moor. How big are the two of them now? If they get too big for the tank both of them will start to be stunted.
The're not too big, the moor especially is really small, though I think the comet might have grown a bit since I got it.
Would the moor be alright in the 12 gallon for a year or so until I can get a bigger tank if I moved the other one? I'm thinking I might be able to move the comet to a water garden outdoors. Would it be able to survive winter?

Ahhh lucky you fly! X3 Those fish sounds really awesome, wow !
I went on aquadviser also, and played around with ideas for a 30 gallon tank. Basically just choosing out fish I really like xD Oops. I especially love the idea of having a Dojo loach and pictus catfish, the rest I'm not /as/ attached to.
Everything seems fine water-temperature-wise, and tank-filling-wise, but I don't know much about fish temperaments, so I don't really know if this would work ;~;
1 x Golden Dojo Loach
2 x Pictus Catfish
4 x Longfin Zebra Danio
2 x Dwarf Gourami
3 x Peppered Cory
Already I see potential issues with it;
- From what I've read online, it would probably be better to have another golden dojo loach (or two!) but I can't afford a tank big enough to hold more than one; it would be awfully cramped u__u
- Would the pictus catfish or dojo loach eat/attack the smaller fish? ;o;
- Also, I dunno if the dwarf gouramis would get along well with each other, or the other fish >< I just would love to add something colorful, since the loach is tannish, pictus catfish are silver, the danios are black, and the cories are grey ; w ; So if there's another fish that would work better ... ?
AND one last thing xD I'm sorry to ask so many questions guys, I'd just really love some help ; u ;
Is using spring water better than using tap water with water conditioner (or whatever it's called?) ?
My mom seems to think so, but Aquadviser recommended changing out ~40% of the water per week, and at ~$5 per gallon, buying 12 gallons of spring water per week doesn't seem realistic ;_;
Thanks for any help! Q A Q <33 //clueless

herpluvin wrote:i like shubunkins, but as i have said before, i have a 30 gallon, but at the SAME time, i keep reading that shubunkins get smaller than comets and commons, just bigger than fancies. could i set up a regular 30 gal and keep a single shubunkin and it not get too big and/or be stunted? from what i looked up i saw that:
commons and comets reach 8-9 inches in body length, with commons reaching 12 inches total and comets reaching 16-18 inches total
shubunkins, jikins, and wakins get to be 8-10 inches total including fins
the other fancies only get 6-8 inches total normally.
i am wanting to make sure of this before i decide to make my move later this year
(jikins and wakins are fantailed goldfish that are built like commons and comets, lacking the arched back of most fancies and thus have less health issues)
Rule for goldfish was 20g for the first fancy and 10g for each additional
And 55g for a single tail (including comets, commons and shubunkins) with 20g for each additional
But now people are starting to say 40g breeder is minimum for fancys if your planing on keeping two in it their whole lives
Basicly goldfish grow threw out their whole lives and can live for over 20 years so you want the biggest tank you can get, some people just upgrade as the fish grows
A 30g should be enough for maybe 2 years though

So I have posted on here before about how freshwater shrimp and snails are illegal to be sold in pet stores where I live. I have a empty 3 gallon tank just sitting in my basement and I was thinking about ordering a few shrimp online and setting up my 3 gallon with plants and have them breed and multiply and I could put the full grown ones in my 10 gallon and possibly feed a few of my young ones to my goldfish? I just wanted to know if a 3 gallon was okay for that.
