Perditus and Sero
"Lost and Found"
Perditus's Weakness:As has been known, Finchlings never open their eyes. However, whatever apparently guides the Finchlings in place of sight, whether it is smell, hearing, or elsewise - this Finchling seems not to have the ability to use it. We know Perditus can hear, because he communicates with his dragon (not often other Finchlings, however), but if it is indeed hearing that guides Finchlings, we believe that perhaps he is deaf in just one ear and so can not tell what direction sounds are coming from. But, he could have perfectly fine hearing and be lacking some other trait. It's unlikely it will ever be known for sure. Whatever the case, Perditus receives guidance instead from Sero, the dragon around his neck, who acts as his eyes. Unfortunately, Sero is not all that trustworthy, and has his own plans for Perditus.
Behind the Names:"Perditus" and "Sero" are Latin for "lost" and "found". I chose these translations specifically for the context of lost and found they represent, and because they seemed suited for names. More specifically, "Perditus" translates to "lost, ruined, desperate, abandoned", which relates to the fact that Perditus cannot move about on his own or make sense of the world. "Sero" translates to "found, locked up, entwined", which relates to his not-so-honest intentions in guiding Perditus.Quick Facts:Names: Perditus and Sero

How They Met:Perditus met Sero sometime in early childhood. When too young to remember, Perditus somehow ended up in some kind of black magics shop, tended by an old Asian man. He was kept in a small cage with rusted wire walls, which he ran into often due to his inability to navigate properly. People would come across him from time to time, seemingly about to free him from the awful store, but in his excitement Perditus would start running around, banging his head against the wires. Customers unfailingly took a step back, had a hushed conversation with the storekeeper, and then moved on, while Perditus would realise once again that his hopes were as dashed as he was - the episodes always left Perditus with new webs of small cuts from the rusty wire. Months into this, Perditus was one day greeted by a hissing voice. Although terrified, the voice whispered promises of escaping, if only he would allow the voice to guide him. Trembling, Perditus accepted, and moments later he felt a weight around his neck, coiling tighter until Perditus feared he would be killed. But, suddenly, he could tell where he was. Shocked, he froze, which earned a raspy chuckle from around his neck. "Yes, youngling. See what old Sero can offer you? Dark magic runs through this store like a river, you need only accept it's guidance to have what you most desire." Young, weakened and tired from long months of tortured imprisonment, and desperate, Perditus could not resist the temptation, although he sensed he was inviting something very dangerous into his life... soon after, Perditus and Sero had left the store behind them, ready for a new chapter of life.
Art:Wow so apparently it's even harder to draw emotions without eyes than I thought. [8/3 Here's an updated WIP of the art!] Hopefully I can still finish this in time!
