It's not that I didn't like uther
it's just I can't take his character seriously any more after seeing the actor as a watcher/magic user/magic shop owner/librarian on buffy who sometimes sings.

I did actually include him in my fanfiction as well

Well I didn't HATE uther,hate is a strong word, I disliked the way that he hated magic and couldn't let go of the past and try and see that it could be a force of good instead of bad,merlin was living proof of that

John Hurt will forever be the voice of the most annoyingly unhelpful dragon.

there are a couple of merlin episodes I always find myself going back to. (changeling is one, the other is ...... the one with lady vivian...can't remember the title)
and a couple I try and avoid (basically anything involving sickness.....)
and lady of the lake always makes me cry.

See yesterday I watched the first few episodes of season one and when merlin got sick I was like "NOONONONONONONONONONO"

but when camelot start getting sick and dropping dead all over the place,

That one I was hesitant to watch xD
I was thinking "Guys,no no,please, no you have to keep livi-no Jeremy, what did I just say about living?"

That time when Uther tried to destroy the Mortaeus Flower to teach Arthur a lesson.
Well Uther, that won't teach Arthur.

I know I was like "UTHER, YOU COULD HAVE JUST KILLED MERLIN, THIS IS NOT TEACHING ARTHUR A LESSON ITS TEACHING HIM THAT YOU ARE A ROYAL PAIN AND NOT TO BE LIKE YOU IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCES"

Uther is set up sort of to be a long term antagonist kind of thing
the reason merlin has to keep his magic a secret
we aren't really supposed to like him all that much
