Tanuke's Name: Ohanzee (o-han-zee)
Gender: Male
Age: Twelve years old
Personality: Ohanzee is a rather quiet/hushed Tanuke. He's not really shy, but doesn't like like having much attention put on him. Ohanzee tends to either stay by himself or a small group of well known others. He is very cautious of new people. It takes time and proof/reason before he ever really trust anyone. When he does take to someone he tends to be very caring, loyal, an even protective to that being. He is self-aware and knows what he is capable of, but is humble about it. He's not one to show off, because he already know's he sticks out. Ohanzee is not much of a fighter or the one to jump to conclusions right away. He likes to keep calm, collected, and think things over.
Tame or Wild: Ohanzee is really neither yet both. He is a drifter; coming and going as he pleases. He accepts some human contact, but he's never really fully trusted human beings.
Back story: As a young Tanuke around the age of five was when Ohanzee first seen human kind. At this time Ohanzee was a very curious about new things and people. He watched from a distance for some time and keeping outta sight of the strange two legged creatures. He seen little ones, bigger ones, and all in between. The two he seen the most seem to be young adults of their breed. One day he had the nerve and curiousness over came him. He lingered slowly out of his hiding spot and moved closer. The two he had been watching had now spotted him. They moved closer as well. "Demon!" One yelled seeing his eyes. Ohanzee pulled his ears back and took a step back in confusion. The other quickly picked up a rock and chunked it at Ohanzee. They repeated this until Ohanzee had turned and fled back far out of sight. This incident had scarred him mentally and permanently. He hadn't gone near another human again for years. That was until one had approached him... Traveling to far in an unknown place hunting and had stumbled upon him. He wasn't very happy to see me and let me know he wasn't. Ohazee bared his teeth and growled loudly. I had heard stories and rumors about creatures like him growing up. When I was a kid I had wish they were real, but grew out of it. So I was in awe at the creature that stood before me I heard in stories all my life was in fact real. Ohanzee climbed on to a fallen tree trying make himself look even bigger. I couldn't lie my heart was racing, but I couldn't bring myself to run. I took a step back and squated down; taking off my gear and laying my bow down. Ohanzee watched me closely and didn't budge; he wasn't going to be scared away from his land. I slowly reached into my bag and pulled out a piece of venison I had harvested earlier. It was still warm. I unwrapped it and tossed it in front of him. An offering of peace and to hopefully show I didn't want to hurt him. Ohanzee still glared at me, but I could tell the smell of the meat was reaching his nose. He glanced down to it then slowly reached out to grab it. Once in his reach he snatched it up and ran down the log. As he contently ate I grabbed another piece out my bag and cautiously walk over to him. He darted his red eyes at me and allowed a growl to escape his throat. "Shhh...It's alright." I gently spoke to him. I reached my hand out with the meat in it toward him. The was a long pause and awkward silence as he glared into my eyes. He then reach out his hand and grabbed the meat from me. After a few more moments I packed up my stuff and headed back. After that I would make trips out there to visit him. With time he has learned to accept my presence.
