Roll says... 1: Elders.
You sigh, silently tell your stomach to relax, and pick up your bleak and head for the elder's den.
The elder's den is near the nursery - while the nursery takes cover under the dug out roots of the willow tree that provides shade over camp, the elders sleep only a foxlength away in a bush that has been carefully picked at until it was hollowed out on the inside. The warriors dug out a series of little hollows to give the elders more room to sit up or stand. Since it's early New-leaf, all of them are currently dozing outside, enjoying the faint sunlight dappled on their fur.
The oldest one raises up his long and narrow head and squints in your direction. In a voice that has become croaking through use, he says, "Who's that? Who're you?"
"It's Rookpaw, Stoatstream," says the brown tom at his side, who has opened up one green eye without raising his head. "She's got some food." He then repeats himself when Stoatstream looks confused.
"Do we have a Brookpaw in our Clan?" he asks.
The molly next to him sighs. "Nevermind, you old bat. Hello, Rookpaw."
She turns her head to face you, and you have to consciously keep from flinching. The entire right side of her face is marred viciously - thick, ugly scars crisscross over where her eye and ear used to be, and even her muzzle has the sign of a dog's bite on the bridge of her nose and the right side of her mouth. She's a pleasant cat, don't get me wrong - but it takes one a while to get used to such horrific injuries, old as they are.
"Hello, Half-face," you say, politely, after setting down the fish. "I came to see if you all were fed."
"They haven't brought me anything yet," says Rabbitnose. He has a very gentle air about him, and benignly looks upon you and your catch. "I'd love some of that bleak, though, if you don't mind."
You push it towards him. "I caught it myself."
"Is that so?" Half-face's remaining eye squints in amusement. "How did someone as new as you do that? This was your first day, yes?"
Tell the truth.
Brush it off with a joke.
Boast.
Avoid the question.
