Not really sure what I thought about it. I guess I just didn't really recognize much of the scenes. A lot of them were just shots of people standing/sitting/looking off into the distance/getting ready for battle, and stuff.. xD It didn't really get me hyped up like the trailers for the last two movies did for some reason.

I already know that I am going to hate the movie itself, but as for thoughts on the trailer:
1.) The first line Bilbo says in the trailer irks me. "One day I'll remember." What? So he just decides to forget that stuff happened? Okay... Doesn't fit him or the book at all...
2.) As much as I love that song sung by Billy Boyd (and his voice) why in the world did they think it a good idea to simply re-use it like that? Pippin has no connection whatsoever to The Hobbit. I hope to god that it isn't placed in the actual movie.
3.) And what's with the fluffing chase scenes? First we get the ridiculous one of Radagast in his bunny sled and now we have some random wolf chase across a frozen river? I mean, it certainly looks like a chase to me...I don't even...
4.) The only thing I can agree on with this (for making it into a movie, mind you) is that Bilbo will participate in the war instead of being hit over the head and unconscious the entire time (at least that is how it seems it will be from the trailer).

The movie isn't for fans of the book
it's for the general public, because they know the fans as much as they might not actually enjoy the movie... will just go anyway.
- well at least that's how it's felt for the past couple of films. This one is probably gonna be no different, especially because of the new title and everything
I think the song fits with the trailer quite nicely.
.... oh god... I remember shooting some of that stuff...

Personally, I love what Peter Jackson has done to Tolkien's work. Besides, he's doing his own version of it- it's not supposed to be exactly the same. As a director he should have the right to change what he wants and some of those who love the books but who don't like PJ's version should stop constantly hating on it by posting everywhere! I get why some don't like it, but they're PJ's films, and he's made them memorable. Just watch Bakshi's version.
Though, the trailer for BoFA is a bit confusing- was it supposed to be done in chronological order or not? I do love it but I've been left somewhat bewildered about what was happening. Still, I'm really excited for it!!

That line makes me wonder if he really will be knocked unconscious at one point and possibly gets a little amnesia or something.

People who have been in a war generally like to forget that they were even in it. My Uncle is living proof of that. He was in the Vietnam war and he doesn't talk about it. I don't imagine it is much different in a fantasy world.
As for Pippin's song, I thought it was brilliant! I love that song and it fit the scenes they picked perfectly.
I am hoping that they Spoiler for those who have not read the book-kill the dwarves. I know this sounds bad, but Fili, Kili, and Thorin die along with some others. It will break my heart, but they really must go.
