Anyone noticed they share a resemblance? There even drawn by the same person! Almost like the Advents are his mother and father! O.o

They are both from the 2013 Advent Calendar and came in a set.

I think this person used the wrong first picture.

Blenore, every year some adult versions of popular PPS pets are released. You can pretend they're a family, of course :) but they're known as GUPPS (Grown-Up PPS)

I am sure this little guy is based off of a popular japanese sugar candy called Konpeitō (taken from the Portuguese word for confetti), not shooting stars like everyone is calling it XD

I saw 3D origami stars on WeHeartIt, I thought the stars referred to that >_< At least it reminded me of that

now that you mention it, they do look an awful lot like origami stars, which would still fit into the theme of the store pets very well, either way, i think many will agree that these pets were made with Japan in mind

I'm to assume the Store Pets are Japan/China Themes perhaps because of the Koi and the cherry blossom, but what about the star one (which is my favorite!)?

This Calf seems to be modeled after the Egyptian Goddess Hathor, as the circle being held between the horns is a Sun Disk which is what Hathor the Goddess with the cow's head is depicted wearing. But Hathor Was always depicted as a Gold or White Cow. Never a Black one which leads me to think that this cow is in Fact Based on a more obscure Sacred Bull Called Apis, He is a Black Bull Often depicted wearing Hathor's Sun Disk as he was believed to be the "strong bull of his mother Hathor", he was one of the few deities to hold a title under Hathor's name

Fun Fact: Cows can have horns Just like bulls, it just depends on the breed

That's right XD. The blue marking represents the Nile and if you look closely you can also see the water reflex on it.
