Roll says... 3: Could have been dangerous.
"They could have been dangerous-" you start, but Applefoot's gaze is remarkably chilling.
"Hostility begets hostility," she says. "If you start growl at them, they'll start growling right back, and if they were already upset, they'll fight. We have a good relationship with them right now, but it doesn't take much to bring it all down. You need to play nice with your neighbors."
You don't say anything. That cold stare of hers shut you up pretty good.
She turns around and keeps walking, and you follow along, tail low. You distract yourself by looking around at everything, counting how many different colors of flowers you see, watching for a fish to leap out of the water, anything to take your mind off of your embarrassment. You look over at the woods and see a grey squirrel, and are reminded of that odd molly.
"Who was that grey cat?" you ask.
Applefoot's voice is back to its dry casualness. "Thistlenose. She's weird, but alright. Doesn't say a word, usually."
"Neither do you," you point out. "You've been talking to me, though."
"Mm."
You two continue on until you reach the part of the river before it splits. You notice that it's very wide, and the water is oddly still in the middle.
"Keep that in mind," she says. "When the river's still, that means there's a fast current underneath. Don't go swimming up here if you can help it."
You note it as the two of you cross over a wooden thing that Applefoot calls a bridge. She says that a couple of Twolegs made it.
"Well, those are the borders," she says. "The east one is just the river. We'll go for the training area now. Might as well get some practice in." She looks over at you. "Well, I guess. It depends on what you want to do."
