Feather woke up as the storm lightened. She peered through the entrance to her den and saw that the stream she lived next to had risen a good 3 feet. Probably not a good idea to go fishing today... she thought.

I sat at the edge of the group, I didn't feel like explaining myself again. I felt as though every eye was on me, I knew I was over reacting the most I got was a glance here or there. I slowly started to relax I knew none of the cats would try to attack me in front of the whole clan.

K thanks. Also, I'm gonna change to 1st person. And present tense. It's just easier because I'm writing a story that's in 1st person present tense so yeah.

I stretch as I get up. I love the smell of rain; it makes everything so pleasant. But it also makes it harder to scent prey... I sigh. Oh well. You can't have everything.

"We just have a few matters to dicuss. First, no one was hurt or injured in the storm. Everyone followed the proper steps to safety by entering their dens and huddling all together in the middle. This thunderstorm lasted just about two sunrises, and beginning moonhigh and tomorrow we should expect clear skies. Second, we have received a new Clan member. We stumbled across her in the climax of the storm, and her name is Mud."

Taking a few pawsteps to the edge of the Jutting Boulder, she said, "Mud, you have joined the hierarchy of RainClan, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Mudpaw. Your mentor will be Shellstorm. I hope Shellstorm will pass down all she knows on to you."

"Shellstorm, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You had received excellent training from Gorsefang, and you have shown yourself to be dauntless and valiant. You will be the mentor of Mudpaw, and I expect you to pass on all you know to Mudpaw."

"I suppose prey dens might be flooded with all the rain and they'll be out and about...but don't get your hopes up" Shellstorm muttered to the tom, getting to her paws once she heard her leader call a meeting. "When Dawnstar finishes speaking, lead a hunting patrol and take two or three others with you." She looked at Oliveheart with her intense blue eyes while she gave him the orders, then left to join the rest of the clan in the clearing.
The air smelled of damp grass and mud, as it usually did after a rain. Though, the deputy's focus was on the cat perched on a branch in the oak tree. She perked her ears and sat down next to a warrior, listening to the meeting.

Swanfeather

Hearing the conclusion of the meeting, Swanfeather turned to look at the newly named Mudpaw with warm eyes. "Welcome to RainClan," she meowed, standing up. "I'm sure you will find you have made a wise choice."
The long-furred she-cat turned and padded towards the enterance to their camp once more. The storm had interrupted her last time, and she still had herbs she wished to stock up on.
Decieding to tell the deputy of her actions just to be safe, Swanfeather called out, "Shellstorm, I'm going out to collect herbs."

I let out a small purr, I looked over at my new mentor for a second. I Felt excited Ive finally done it, joined them I raised my head proudly as I looked around at my clan mates.

Oliveheart felt a shiver run down his spine as Shellstorm's gaze pierced him, then redirected his attention to his leader as she made Mudpaw an apprentice. When the ceremony was over, he stood up and looked around for other warriors to join him on a hunting patrol.
